Having had a few weeks of the season now and starting to watch even more German football, it is even more evident that this is a very good league, with a large number of well matched teams.

It's pretty obvious that the teams would struggle to rest players for ECL matches as they'd almost certainly get beat the preceding weekend, in addition, unlike England there are not 3/4 teams way way better than the rest and the wealth of talent is spread much more evenly, hence the sides qualifying tend to struggle a little as they aren't as strong as teams from other countries where the power is concentrated on a few.

I think there are too many on here writing this league off without fair analysis, give it a go it's wll worth a watch and is usually exciting with teams trying to win the match by playig offensive football even when the top teams in the league are playing each other, unlike watching Luckypool or chelski for example.

Same thing goes for the Eredivisie.

You are right though, Germany has some very entertaining sides and some magic players (vdVaart, Diego, Ribery). And while I think the French league is overrated both the Dutch and German are underrated.

My sunday league competition is pretty exciting, with plenty of goals and attacking football and no one team is much better than the others. Should we not underestimate that league too? ;-)

Yes the Bundesliga is a good league to watch, I've watched some of it too, but that doesnt translate into the fact its full of quality, because its clearly behind the big leagues in respect of real top class footballers, tacticians etc who often nullify each other in search of mixing attacking with winning. Its still a top league though, however shouldnt be compared to La Liga, EPL or Serie A because its a totally different kettle of fish entirely.

The irony isnt lost on the fact that Germany is becoming the new Holland at both League and International level- exciting to watch but failing to win much, if any, silverware...

Bayern will win the UEFA Cup this year for sure.

If not, the dark lord, Darth Wurst, won´t be pleased...

    Frank. Ale

And Pele, it's not just a joy to watch, the quality of the football is often excellent as well. Just watch it, and you will be surprised. And don't you worry about us not winning silverware, we will never be like the Dutch. Attacking football to win, not just to entertain, self-destruct and "die in beauty" like our beloved Western neighbours love to. Wink
