which league is truly greater Question

I know, my dear chaps and chappesses

we have kind of had this debate many times

some of you will not understand how a Bundesliga reject like Hleb, Lehmann and NOW Santa Cruz can become an EPL superstar

    neither can most Germans

other Englanders may have rubbed their eyes in disbelief when the best Lion at the World Cup was playing in the Bundesliga, just like the best Brazilian, Dutchie, Frenchie...

    but REALLY

the acid test of all acid tests is this

which league, the Bundesliga or the EPL, has the highest number of World Champions Question

I leave it to you to figure it out

    lol!

personally I think that this season's Real First XI would not qualify for the CL if it played in the Bundesliga

it would jostle with HSV, Dortmund and Bremen for a UEFA Cup place

You forgot to mention that Bayern would also be struggling for a UEFA cup place, just like last season.

Besides we wouldn't just qualify for the CL we would win the Bundesliga with 10 games to spare.

Last season the EPL had 3 CL semi finalists, the year before that Arsenal got to the finals, the year before that Liverpool won and Chelsea got to the semi finals.

what did the German teams manage in those three years Question

    One quarter final lol!

Look...how odd it may sound but I agree with Otto!! Last days this question has kept me busy..."what is it that makes the EPL bigger then the Bundesliga"

Well there isnt!!! Lets face it the Man utd is more dominating in the EPL then Bayern in the B'Liga.

It's also way more authentic....real supporters, and cheap prices.

And then there was the opening, Schalke/Stuttgart was a real cracker, cant say that about Sunderland/Tottenham...

    both NOW

    and

    HISTORICALLY

the Bundesliga has MORE World Champions than the EPL

    that is simply undeniable

the EPL merely takes a lump of rancid butter and wraps it up in GOLDEN paper

the Bundesliga takes the finest Oldenburger butter and wraps it up in Silver Paper

    that's the difference

Let us watch the CL this season otto and compare the relative strength of Germany's best clubs (as decided by last years league table) and the EPL's top clubs (as determined by last years league table)

Now obviously the EPL destroyed germany last year with 3 out of 4 semi finalists to germany's 0 (ZERO)
    3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 0

Now for this year's fun to begin

    Summer 2006

The Bundesliga's best player, who was playing for the best club in Germany came to the Premiership as he saw it as a step up. Obviously the step up was too big for him and he flopped.

    Summer 2007

Hargreaves leaves the biggest club in Germany to come to the Premiership as he also see's it as a step up. However being English and actually talented, unlike his former Bayern team mate, he should be able to make the step up.

The only good thing about the Bundesliga is that the ticket prices are cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for Laugh

Forget the players, standing areas in the stadia alone are reason enough for Bundesliga > EPL. And this.

Is Gilberto Silva not a World Champion?

What you also forget is that at the time of France's WC 98 victory, we had Desailly and Lebouef at our club alone. Guivarch later joined Newcastle, Henry and Barthez joined EPL clubs, and in their latter years N'Gotty, Djourkaeff (sp) also joined.
