i didnt think the english defence was that good tonight...too many basic mistakes that a top side would have taken advantage of..
barry was GREAT...gerrard wasnt so good...owen amazing again..thank god....and heskey was AMAZING...won every single header..set up owen...might have scored himself with a bit more luck..good performance..
we should qualify now but terry and ferdinand need to sort themslves out before the euro finals come around.

by the way...german tv 'expert' pundits looked at all the games last night after the german friendly..
their comments about the france-scotland game were:
'its surprising to see scotland on top....but its good to see that the good work bertie vogts did during his time in scotland is starting to show'...
basically giving bertie the credit!!!!
and this wasnt a joke!!!!!!
and certain people complain about english tv pundits.. biased etc!!!

Re: International matches Wednesday 12/09/07
Media bias exists everywhere for sure.
By the way, fellow englanders, isnt it just NICE to actually enjoy watching england games for a change and feel like you havent wasted 2 hours of your life afterwards? Last night was some terrific end to end stuff,
After the dourness of erikson and the beginning of mclaren's reign, seeing england going gung ho down the flanks and through the middle was fantastic to finally see.
Who gives a Cr@p if the defence was a little shaky- its a risk worth taking if we're scoring more up the other end. I'd take a 4-3 over a 1-0 Erikkson special any day. This side looks like it wants to get forward, and that means the defence will look isolated at times, its happens to all attacking teams.
Credit to Scotland, I cheered that result as much as the england victory in the end. Absolute amazing result.

So it wasn't Vogts who decided to give youth its chance for Scotland? The Scots are now benefitting from decisions that were made under Vogts and in contrast to you, Darren Fletcher is praising him for that.
McBerti doesn't have the communication skills to become a good manager, but he knows a hell a lot more about football than you, mein lieber don't panic.

His time indeed was a disaster, like all his jobs as manager have been before. Vogts is tactically inept and lacks the ability to talk to players in an inspiring way, but he made the right decision to implement a development plan for bringing through players.
He had a long-term approach and failed to communicate that. But these fundamental decisions made by him are one reason why Scotland have been so successful lately and nothing else was said yesterday by Netzer and Delling.

What an awful week for the French. First the rugby, then this. Cant be nice for them. Especially since, fair play to scotland, the fact is they had 75% possession and over 4 times as many chances according to the report I read. Must be galling to have watched Craig Gordon parrying shot after shot then going down to a Mcfadden wonder goal

Thanks chrissi, I still struggle with copying individual pictures on a page but I'll work it out in the end
I think the rugby is far worse for Les Bleus in terms of morale, the football team have three games left they should win, and I suppose they can chalk down these results as pretty freaky... in the rugby they have to make sure they beat Ireland and score as many bonus points as poss, and somehow through other results end up top, else it's NZ in the quarters which is far too early...
Gordon was indeed huge from what I saw in the last 15 mins...

Why did Klinsmann get so much stick prior to the World Cup? He was obviously right, nevertheless there were still a lot of people who criticized him for his plans. On the long run those critics were proved wrong, and as I said Darren Fletcher also said Vogts deserves credit for his work.
how do you know this is all down to vogts?
Did I say, it's all down to Vogts? --- No.
Did Delling or Netzer say it's all down to Vogts? --- No.
I said, one reason for Scotlands success is the fact that Vogts gave young players a chance, which is quite similar to the approach Klinsmann has implemented in Germany, by the way.
Their current manager is definitely another factor for the success and no one denied that, neither Delling, nor Netzer, nor my humble self.
Making reforms always means you will suffer some setbacks, but it doesn't say that these reforms were wrong. Is it so hard for you to give this man some credit for his effort to overcome the short term thinking of football in Scotland, where only immediate results are important?
im pretty sure if scottland were rubbish now..bottom of the group...no one from germany would be saying its vogts fault...they would say something like:
'see..vogts was hard done too...its no wonder he had no success..scotland are rubbish..
Nah, that wouldn't have happened. If Scotland were bottom in their group, no one in Germany would get to see them, because we only appreciate success. Ergo no pundit would have had the chance to say something like that.
Wahre Geschichte.

- move the mouse pointer over your avatar picture (for example)
- press the right mouse button
a menu window should pop up now

a window should pop up now
- look for "Address:"
- copy the address ("http://europeanboard.ephpbb.com/users/28/33/70/avatars/53-92.jpg" in case of your avatar, mark it with your mouse, right click on the marked address and select copy from the menu)
- if you want to use it in a post, write "":
It should look like this then:

or in the end:
You see, it´s quite simple, really.
