An interesting take - presumably provided by Mourinho's s camp - on the behind the scenes going on at Chavs - Mourinho sacking was premeditated (Grant began querying about his eligibility to manage two weeks ago) but it was his row with Terry that precipitated last week's events, and Mourinho blames Terry for his dismissal.

Some quite extraordinary stuff in there eg

    - after the draw vs Rosenborg, while Maureen was talking to the press, Moneybags provided his own critique of the match to the players in the dressing room using Chavchenko as interpreter. He told Essien where he should be passing.
    Shocked
    - Terry, as well as demanding a limitless parity with the highest earner in the club, had also asked for an option to manage the team after retirement. Shocked

while Arnesen compounded the error of allowing Chelsea's most effective defender to leave the club by pulling the plug on the £5m purchase of Micah Richards. Inside a season Richards was a full England international,

    Wow Surprised

I didn't know Chelsea had a bid accepted for him.

Reading this article, i feel sorry for the chelsea fans, for their sake,I hope Grant does well.

Terry comes across as such an ungrateful little Pr!ck. Mourinho made him what he is today and that is the thanks he gets.

    Doesn't look good for Chelsea.

One of the things that made Chelsea strong was their team unity and firm hand under Maureen - and both of them are gone now. I assume that the information in the article(s) came from Maureen's camp mainly, but it looks like there's some within dressing room who's been talking (Cashley? Lump of Lard?). It must have made uncomfortable reading over the breakfast table at the team hotel this morning....

    Also from the Guardian:

Avram Grant was born on 6 May 1955. Petah Tikva, which means gate of hope, was then a small town 10 miles from Tel Aviv but is now a suburb of the city. Grant is the only child of his late Iranian mother and Polish father, who spent time in concentration camps during the Second World War.

He has two children and is married to Tzofit, an actress and TV personality. While Grant is quiet, his wife can occasionally surprise with her antics. On a chat show she hosted until recently Tzofit has drunk urine and bathed in a tub of chocolate.

My thoughts on this article, which I posted earlier in Nightwing's thread:

Within a year, and despite Mourinho's success in claiming a second successive Premiership, the manager had lost control of transfers. In the 2006 summer window, Mourinho asked the board to buy Samuel Eto'o; they spent a UK record £30m on Shevchenko. Chelsea sold William Gallas to Arsenal against Mourinho's wishes, and forced the £7m Khalid Boulahrouz upon him, while Arnesen compounded the error of allowing Chelsea's most effective defender to leave the club by pulling the plug on the £5m purchase of Micah Richards. Inside a season Richards was a full England international, while Boulahrouz was stinking out the reserves until Chelsea paid Sevilla to take him off their hands.

Very interesting article, provides a lot of insider info that not many of us knew before. But the paragraph which I've quoted above is almost complete bollocks IMO.

    1. Sure, Mourinho may have asked the board to sign Samuel Etoo. But it's not as if he asks and he gets. We refused to sell Etoo for any price, so there's not much the board could have done anyway.

    2. Mourinho did want Gallas to stay, but the player desperately wanted to leave, and in these situations, the club always loses.

    3. Micah Richards for 5 million pounds? lol! lol! lol!

There's no such thing as 'refusing to sell for any price' kas. If Chelsea offered £100m you'd accept.

Papers today say that Chelsea will be going for Dinho and Kaka next summer. Surely they've noticed how $h!t they work together for the national team

The papers in England must be bored.

As for 100m, we know that's not going to happen. What we also know is that this summer, Milan, Man. Utd, Arsenal, and Liverpool all made *serious* offers/enquiries for Etoo, with Liverpool supposedly also making a bid of 40-45 million euros, and all were turned down.

Another interesting insight is the way agents operate

''Arnesen and De Visser, friends and allies from their time together at Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, steadily worked to influence Abramovich's thinking on the first team, and, most importantly, player recruitment. Along with the agents Soren Lerby, Vlado Lemeic and Pini Zahavi they sought to steer Abramovich towards the purchase of certain footballers. Their objective, according to one source, was 'to get to Abramovich's money. To do that they needed power at the club, needed a manager who would do what they wanted. Mourinho was not that manager.'''

Don't give them too much credit. Earlier in the week they were thinking of giving Jamie Redknapp a job.

the article sounds like it saying mourinho asked them to go for eto'o and they just ignored him and bought shevchenko. whether or not barcelona would've sold him is beside the point.

they didn't have to sell gallas when they did, though you're right the club couldn't really win in the situation.

richards for £5m sounds unlikely but this is before the man city takeover. depends on what man city's financial situation was at that point as to whether they'd have sold him at that price then. still, i would've thought it would've taken £10m+ to get him at that time.

You are a hypocritical c**t. When the English papers say something you disagree with, you are outraged, calling in a million and one conspiracy theories and claiming to be in the know about the real truth.

But then a story appears in those same papers, based on pure rumour, and its now your going straight along with it a though it the gods honest truth.

Explain to us how Mourinho's departure might have helped Terry, the same player he called an untouchable and made club captain? Why the f@ck would Terry want him gone? Captains and managers have arguments all the time, doesnt mean he wanted him out. Only THICK SHITES would claim that the man who benefitted more than onyone from Mourinho's reign at Chelea would actually want him out over a spat.

This Terry story sells papers, because its controversial. When infact everyone knows, and has known, for ages that Shevchenko was the main man who was Abramovich's bum buddy and would benefit most from his "dissapearance" . However, since this story is nothing new, it aint world breaking. Dont you know how the media here works? You sure as hell claimed to on a regular basis in the past ok Ale

Unlike the rumours in the media to sell papers your ever ending limey player bashing sells nothing creates nothing other than a negative view of yourself....Wink

On another note......If there is any fire behind the smoke and Terry comes out with dirt on his face and loses the England captaincy leaving the possibility in some England games of 3-5-2.......Richards/Ferdinand/King........ok

Not really. Only you seem to be peddling it for real.

Im only talking you as you talk to others - THICK SHITES etc. - so Im presuming you can handle it.

Of course you WANT Terry to have been the man behind it. But think for a second - Mourinho was being pushd out the door a LONG TIME before John Terry and Jose apparently had a fall out this week.

Mourinho sealed his fate the day he stopped playing Shevchenko at the beginning of the season, because everyone knows Abramovich and his wife are best friends with Sheva and his wife. What happened with Terry is irrelevant, because he was on his way out a long time ago.

That, my man, is the truth. And not what the papers in Peru and England are picking up to sell a story. You know it too, at least you should do seing as you're always saying how you can see through the Media Smokescreens. Usually with the help of those contacts you are so secretive about <Ale>

A disgragce to t'Cpatians armband for ENGLAND!!!

The only reason he was named captain of England was because of his commitment, never due to football skills. Now EVERYONE knows the kind of guy he is. Such a wonderful fellow. Biggrin <Ale>

Highly unlikely t'media woud turn on t'darling of England - t'captain - and leave Scehvchenko who would be an easier target t'blame!
The reality is the story was given DIRECTLY by Mourinho....he even showed to some of his 'close reported pals' the text message he sent and he gave em the story!!!
Traitor-Terry did back stab him - but miscalculated the impact of his treachery!
    That Sir is the truth!

What do people make of the story in the mirror today?

I didn't realise abram was jewish also. They say the Chelsea fans boooed Grant, cheered for Clarke and Mourinho, then made anti Tottenham songs. They claim the anti Tottenham songs were anti jewish songs aimed at abram and grant. Now abram wants to ban these supporters from chelsea

The whole Jewish conspiracy theory about Chelsea did the rounds last week. Surprises me you didn't realise Roman is Jewish. I mean, the name is about as Jewish as names get...
