Daniel Carvalho Opinions

I don't know if there are any Russian fans here but I was just wondering what are people's opinions on CSKA's 'Brazilian Connection' excl Wagner Love.

That being Daniel Carvalho da Silva,
Dudu Cearense(real name Alexandro Silva de Sousa)
and just relating his nickname to the topic..........
Yuri Zhirkov aka 'the Russian Ronaldinho'.

I was only going to ask for opinions on Carvalho and whether he would make the grade in a top league namely the EPL with L'pool and would he suit us. Espcially in the line up I wouldn't mind seeing....................

Daniel Carvalho had the world at his feet last year , called up to the Brazilian national team but him and others who were fell out of favor with Dunga , maybe hes not ready. But hes a talent.

He has been injured for most of the year hasn't he? I think he is only just returning to fitness.

We've discussed him a few times on the Arsenal thread, I was impressed with him last season when he played against us, but I haven't really seen enough of him to judge properly.

He was impressive against us and I've seen him in a couple of the Brazil games and he's looked good, certainly better than Babel.

I'd describe him as cultured - he's got good techique and passing, but is also blessed with a fair share of pace and strength

Ive only seen him in 9 or 10 games I think and most of them he has stood out above the rest. Definetely a touch of class about him.
He was sensational when CSKA beat Sporting in the UEFA Cup Final(maybe semis), he was a massive influence in all 3 goals.

Aswell as the Euro Super Cup when L'pool beat them, deservedly should have got MOTM as again he was involved in everything good going foward but Cisse got it for his goals.

Hes still fairly young, 21/22 if Im not mistaken so there is still plenty of time to develop.

Tweeds dont forget hes a totally different type of style compared to Babel, Babel is obviously more raw and lacks the technique of how you put it 'cultured' Brazilian and thats no real suprise.

By the was Zhirkov and Duda at all impressive againist you lot Tweeds or SG?

I don't remember much about Zhirkov. Dudu is a decent player from what I remember. Quite a tidy player, nothing special but he anchored the midfield quite well.

Some people say Torres cannot play upfront on his own so that could be a problem.

On Carvalho think he is a very good player, and maybe like Elano would look much better in the epl. Im sure hes more like 25 than 21 but still would be a decent signing. Think he would prefer the place where you have Babel also.

This one is a Brazilian CM who plays for CSKA

I think he is out of contract in Jan, unless he signed a new deal?

same here tweeds, he was v good v arsenal

Carvalho is good, I wanted him at man utd a lot of last season, he would certainly mesh in at Pool well, In place of babel though and let Gerrard go through centrally.

Well I was thinking if we ever did sign him either playing him in the Elano role behind Torres or like I said in my orginal post, along side Gerrard and Babel and Torres in front of them.

Pace?Thats one thing he isnt blessed with.

That's a good point, quite similar in many aspects to Kewell apart from not constantly having a sick note.

Perhaps i should write a letter to Rafa
