    Yikes

I thought you'd be the first person to say Italy...Spain doesn't have that many good keepers, esp. in the lower teams.

As for strikers, I was stuck between Italy and Spain on that one too, I think it's a topic for a new thread...I'll start one Very Happy

When I talk about least predictable, I mostly mean least predictable to pick the winner and maybe the CL qualifiers...

Otherwise, even La Liga is very unpredictable.

EPL is clearly 3rd in keepers IMO.... take out Cech and Reina and maybe VDS, and its quite mediore in keepers... I wonder what happened to the good old days when England produced so many good keepers... nowadays its Italy.

But La Liga has some very good keepers... and this summer I think they have overtaken Serie A by inducting De Sanctis, Storari, and Abbiati... all better than Cudicini, just to give you an italian perspective. And some of them are finding it hard to get into the starting team!!

There are very few good keepers period.

Storari certainly isn't one of them and Abbiati isn't great.

Germany has the best keepers. I always wonder why the big, rich teams spend so much on strikers and midfielders, but not on quality (i.e. mostly) German goalkeepers. You could probably get the likes of Neuer, Wiese or Adler for 10-15 million (which is a bargain compared to what they spend on other players) and they'd get you a whole number of points each season. They're also young, so you would only have to do that once every ten years.

I agree re the money spent on keepers... there was a huge hue and cry when Juve spent £28M on Buffon, and Inter spent £20M+ on Toldo, the twoo most expensive gk deals ever... but both times, the money was more than well spent... keepers like Buffon win games, IMO Buffon is as important to a team as a Kaka or a Dinho!

Similarily, Cech was the best bargian Chelsea ever got in this era, and Casillas is the best homegrown talent real have produced in recent times, more than Raul.

I am surprised no one thinks England have the best players under the age of 23.

    I cant think of any other league that could field an U23 team of this calibre;

    ----------------------Kasper S---------------------

    Pique---------Richards----------Agger----------Bale

    --------------Mascherano-------Mikel---------------

    -----------------------Fabregas---------------------

    Ronaldo--------------------------------------Rooney

    -----------------------Torres-----------------------

An premiership U23 XI IMO would beat any other countries U23 XI.

Also look at the players who couldnt make the XI; Tevez, Anderson, Nani, Lennon, Young, Babel, Clichy, N'Zogbia, Adebayor, Kalou, Taylor etc.
