I'm sorry but how the hell does Pique make the right back spot? surely we can do better than that! How about Djoruo or Stephen Taylor? Hell, Diarra could even play there!

Because he is better than all of them Biggrin

I couldnt think of any right backs, 2 of the players you mentioned are Centre backs and they dont have the football ability required to play right back.

Its an illustion that Italian defenders are better. Sure, they were 5 ot 10 years ago, but not now.

France have some good defenders as well.

I think the football is more pleasing on the eye - from a technical perspective. I'd also say there are more goals, although I'm not sure whether thats a result of more chances being created or just better finishing.

Serie A has its merits though. The weather there makes the football a little different to northern league football, even la liga.

I'm really not sure that Serie A has better players in any of the positions named though - I think if defenders were divided into full backs and central defenders though, Serie A would have the best full backs

Also look at the players who couldnt make the XI; Tevez, Anderson, Nani, Lennon, Young, Babel, Clichy, N'Zogbia, Adebayor, Kalou, Taylor etc.

I did say it, but again, look at that list - almost every player there was bought from another club. I think most posters interpreted that question to mean which league has the best youngsters that have come from that league's own youth acadamies.

I obviously mean La Liga as a league, not spain as a country... And I think La Liga has some quality goalkeeping talent.

Cassillas, De Sanctis, Valdes, Veira, Palop, Hildebrand, Franco, etc loads of quality keepers.

And I think Serie A also has better keepers than EPL at the mo.

Casillas is world class and Palop and De Sanctis are top class keepers. Really not sure after than though. Most of them aren't even regular internationals! Hildrebrand is about fourth choice for Germany, Franco is 2nd choice for the Argies, Viera is still learning as is Utsari.

You're hugely overrating the keeping quality bluey. I'd say its fourth after the Bundesliga, EPL and Serie A

There is a reason why players who cant buy a goal in England, score 20 goals in their first season in la liga Wink

GKs in Spain are about as good as its been in years, but still a few bad uns which ruin it in this contest.

Well not every team has the luxury of being able to go to South America and get the most prodigious talents to join their academies Wink

Not every team has the guts to take a risk and invest in a kid who has talent but also a medical condition.

Portugal and Holland dont get any sort of credit on this board!! Look at how many CL titles they have together...and that with a combined population of 26 million or so Yikes

Compare it with France for example, yet everyone rates the French league!!

Would be a cool idea as well, to combine the Eredivisie and the Portuguese league! Mental stuff is what you get then Biggrin

Portuguese defence, a combined Portuguese-Dutch midfield and Dutch strikers, WOW cheers
