Rothen made it 4-0 for France a short while ago.
He is one of the forgotten players in Monaco's Champions League Finalist season in 2003/2004 IMO.

Iceland losing 3-1 at home to Latvia, Gudjohnsen did open the scoring for Iceland.

Ben Arfa for the last goal
We won 6-0. The main difficulty in Feroe is to land on.

Clever tactic from Faroe...trying their best to win games by opponents forfeiting!

Great to see Hugo Almeida leading the line. I personally think he's the striker Portugal have been waiting for. He had some trouble at Porto, never seemed to settle in, but was great in the youth ranks for PT.
Now at Bremen, he's playing in a quality and demanding league where powerful strikers can shine. This is one of the cases in which the National team benefits from our players leaving PT, as well... we don't develop the best strikers and Almeida seemed to be going down the same path.
IMO, I think he can be our Vieri.

Cesc wrote:Incredible achievement for a 22 year old. At this rate he will end up with the most caps and most goals in Portuguese history.
I wonder how much more he has to do to emulate the likes of Rui Costa and Luis Figo as Portuguese greats.
Yes, he does have the potential to be the best Portuguese International of all time, but there's still plenty to be done to reach the levels of Rui Costa or Figo... and of course Eusebio.
These three won almost everything there was/is to win at club level, something Ronaldo hasn't done yet. He'll have to add at least one European title to his club record before he can be in their class.
At national level, his stats are impressive, but he still isn't the leader they were and simply may never be...time will tell. Both Rui Costa and Figo were natural leaders though and really carried the squad on their backs when Portugal wasn't always the best outfit out there. Ronaldo plays with very gifted and organised players for PT these days... but he does seem to have something about him that puts him ahead of the rest.
Quaresma used to be captain at the lower levels for PT, but I can't see him taking the lead ahead of Ronaldo. However, Ronaldo will have to give up the constant complaining everytime he gets hit... his teamates are always having to run in and defend him ... he's captain and that's supposed to be his role - he needs to set the example.
In any case, Ronaldo won't always be captain just yet; Jorge Andrade will be back.

Why would you put Miguel on the left? Ferreira isn't as good as Miguel on the right and he can actually play LB, something I don't think I've ever seen Miguel do.

I guess i could swap them, or even put Miguel and Bosingwa
And having Simão and Moutinho in the bench means the team can be refreshed as well.

Not really. Shevchenko fell before the challege was made anyway. And we had a stonewall penalty turned down for us also.
It was nailed on !!!
The ref failed to give 3 clear pens for Hutton, Sheva and McFadden in that order.
Henry hasn't scored against Italy and Scotland but Sheva has scored 3 !
He's still a better big game player even now that his legs have gone !

Add to that the field is soaked so no jogo bonito tonight. Everyone will keep it simple with hoofs, so not really. It hasn't been that entertaining tonight.
What has been proven though (or re-confirmed rather) is that when Van Basten plays a decent team, his tactics let us down again.
