IMO Group C is the toughest, anyone can qualify from here:

    Real Madrid 3 7
    Olympiacos 3 4
    Bremen 3 3
    Lazio 3 2

From those teams, the biggest question mark is Liverpool, though if I had to put money on it I'd still have them going through. As for the rest of the groups:

Bremen will go through since they're picking up form and are scoring goals freely.

Benfica will turn it around against Shakhtar. Celtic not enough quality IMO.

Rangers will hang on and go through.

Fenehrbache are looking stronger than PSV, so them to go through.

Valencia/Schalke is too tough to call, neither are playing well so it'll just be a case of whoever screws up less.

So I take it group F isn't even a question?

If Roma lose in Lisboa anything can happen IMO; it's not like they played us off the park...damn lucky to get the win.

Ahh, Group F. There, I think Sporting will beat Roma in Portugal, and then the key match will be whether Roma (with their injuries) can get anything in Kiev. Right now I'm leaning towards Sporting.

There's still the question regarding Utd; by the time they travel to Rome they might not care whether they win or loose.

I realise no club likes loosing, but if qualification is guarenteed by the Roma vs. Man Utd match, many of Utd's starters may find themselves on the bench...or not even making the trip.

Right now it's in the air between Roma/Sporting, but it seems a sure thing Utd will progress.

Sorry I didn't include group F luso, but the reason I didn't is because there hasn't been any surprise in this group. Thus, the favorite one Man Utd is first and the Second favorite, Roma is second. Things can change in this group of course in, but right things are going the way everyone who have expected. Whereas in all the groups mentioned above, there are have been several surprises and some of the favorites are already in trouble.

I did have the idea of the thread wrong, I was on the part of the level of dificulty and who's going to make it out of the group...which I don't think is set yet.

Man Utd is supposed to progress, and I guess Roma being from Italy are supposed to as well. Ok.

I won't say Roma don't have a good squad, they do, much better than ours in some areas, but I don't think we can't beat them is my point. If we get out of the group instead I guess people will consider it an upset, however IMO it really wouldn't be much of an upset.

With only 3 points separating first from last place after 3 games, group D is the tightest group. Any team can qualify, any team can be eliminated.

Let's say it would be a little upset, because Sporting's a good team.

Don't know what is the group of death...

I just know Lyon and Liverpool are in big trouble.I still think Lyon have a good chance to be in 1/8.

They just have to beat Stutgart at home and Barcelona and to hope Rangers lose in Spain and in Germany...It's very possible imo. <Ale>

    @Alive

Course the title is 'group of death', then the thread goes on to talk about upsets...they're two diferent things IMO.

Don't see how all the other groups are diferent from group F in that sense - in terms of dificulty.
