Reyes says Arsenal career is over

Arsenal winger Jose Antonio Reyes says he will not play in England again.
The 22-year-old is so determined to return to his native Spain that he says he will join any of the clubs showing an interest in signing him.

"What I want is to come to Spain. I won't play again in England," he told Spanish sports daily Marca on Sunday.

"I want to return. If it's to play for Atletico Madrid I say yes, if it's to play for Real Madrid I say yes, if it's to play for Sevilla I say yes."

Arsenal have revealed they have turned down a bid from Atletico Madrid while negotiations with Real Madrid appear strained.

The Gunners have accused Real of not backing up their interest in Reyes and unsettling the player.

Sevilla is the Spain international's former club but they have yet to enter the fray in trying to sign Reyes.

Reyes has not played for Arsenal so far this season with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believed to have not used him in the Champions League in order not to cup-tie the midfielder and reduce his value.

Reyes has made his unrest clear but, if a deal is to be worked out, a move has to be completed before the transfer window closes on 31 August.

When I said get our money back I just mean't getting our initial down payment of 11-12 million for him.

I am not to bothered about the rest like the appearance fee, I don't think we have got to that stage yet though with Sevilla.

He is well out of order. I think most Arsenal fans can understand him wanting to leave if he can't settle in England, but he has been treated well by Arsenal fans despite his indifferent form and his actions off the field and he has handled himself appallingly. He should show more respect for the club and the supporters.

Agreed in full, I can accept it if people can't adapt to a new country and different cultures and way of life, but he has hardly gone about it in the right way.

It would be hilarious if some small spainish club in for Reyes and Arsenal accept but he refused to leave

Nah - I still think a decent Spanish club will come in towards the end of the window and offer a "take it or leave it" offer.

I think RM have a 'moral' and 'ethical' obligation to PAY Le Arse WHATEVER they ask for the Judas bastard - as RM are solely responsible for unsettling and effectively 'fingering' the player!!!

If a 'virgin' had been 'fingered' as much as Reyes has been by RM - no man would marry her if she claimed to ben a virgin still!

Will Arsenal play him in the reserves or all will be forgotten.

Reyes should've looked at how Crespo handled his similar situation - thoroughly professional.

Arsenal won't make the money back - it's near impossible. Will this go down as one of Wengers not-so-good signings?

And Yes, he only starts ahead of RVP because he cost a lot more

Trying to sell Reyes at the moment is comparable to trying to find a bank clerk job for Nick Leeson

For those of you that didn't get it, Nick Leeson is the guy who bankrupted Barings Bank

Unless Arsenal lower the asking price i dont see him leaving.
