I don't know, but I would imagine Wenger, Ferguson and Mourinho were/are all being paid roughly the same amount, somewhere around £4m.

£1.5m+ compensation for Sevilla as well. Martin Jol's payoff is rumoured to be £4m.

Its a huge move by Spurs, if I was a fan of theirs I would be pleased by the ambition shown to bring in a manager of a good pedigree and standing.

Mourinho was on £5.1m a year at Chelsea. Its hard to find how much Sir Alex is on, I think he signs 12 month rolling contracts each Summer.

Before the season started...I wouldn't have expected both Jol and Mourinho to be sacked...

good news for SAF too if you believe the rumor that his contract stipulates that he must be the highest paid manager in the league.

Managing Spurs is a no-win situation. They aren't and probably won't ever be good enough to break into the top four.

As would anyone...people leave jobs all the time for better ones or higher paying ones. I don't know why anyone should be so offended. It's a little different because he did have a contract but whatever...that's the way it is.

Yeah, like I said, Ramos had no other option because his contract expires at the end of this season and he would have moved on anyway, and Spurs' offer is reportedly take it or leave it. So if he gave up 6 million euros a year now, then he may never have got that again in his career.

The Sevilla fans are unhappy because he's left midway through the season, in a sudden fashion, and as I've said before, that's why Levy and the Spurs board have to take the majority of the blame. Not Ramos.

Understand what Sevilla fans are saying cant blame him also to point at Spurs he would have much financial backing not to add a chance to prove himself in a different league.

That WAS a "dizzying" offer indeed. Good luck to Juande Ramos even though Sevilla fans hate his guts now.

Can you imagine Alves' reaction after Juande asked him personally to stay at Sevilla for another season. Alves also had his "dizzying" offer from Chelsea, but Juande and Sevilla didn't let him go.

Such is the world of sports, just like everything else fellows. You want loyalty? Get a dog!

Can't blame Ramos for going. If sevilla wanted him to stay del Nido could have indicated that he would be extended with a pay rise. Would have made sense for Sevilla as well as Ramos worked well in Sevilla's set up and it would mean more compensation if he left for a dizzying offer.

However, after his complaints about how he was treated by Espanyol his behaviour is disappointing. Don't blame him for going, but he should have had the class to say a proper goodbye to Sevilla's fans.
