Sparta Rotterdam, who sacked their manager Aandewiel this weekend, have appointed Adrie van Tiggelen as interim manager (until January transfer window)

    http://www.vi.nl/NieuwsItem/VanTiggelenLeidtSpartaTotDeWinterstop.htm

    -----
Roy Makaay suffered a serious concussion (by a Heitinga elbow), but can ,after a few days of rest, resume training later this week.

    http://www.vi.nl/NieuwsItem/MakaayMoetEenPaarDagenRustHouden.htm

Hope Luigi will recover from his hamstring injury in time (he will have a scan this afternoon, hope it's just 2 weeks out for overstretching it, would be 4-6 weeks for a -slightly- torn one). We need him in the dificult away match v Groningen. Not that happy Groningen got trashed by Roda JC this weekend. They've 2 weeks to sort things out & will certainly be playing like madman.

Feyenoord striker Andwele Slory got 20 minutes of playtime from coach Bert van Marwijk against Ajax. The neo international had just recovered from an injury but Feyenoord needed Slory to create something in the last phase of the Feyenoord - Ajax game. Slory did what he could, but failed to make a difference. Although he did get a big opportunity towards the end of the match, only for Ajax goalie Stekelenburg to stop his attempt.

When Slory got home later that day, a letter was put in his letterbox, reading: “Next time, you better score when you are face to face to the opponent’s goalie. If not, it’s better for you to move places…”

Slory went to the police with the letter. His manager: “We can only interpret this letter as a threat. What else can we do. It’s a disgrace that so-called fans do these things. Andwele is pretty shaken at the moment.”

What kind of world is this?

Didn't bother looking up another Eredivisie thread so this will have to do:

Heitinga:"Its time for me to blag my way to some major €€€"

    http://www.vi.nl/MSNNieuws/HeitingaDeKansDatIkVertrekIsGroot.htm?msn=true
Heitinga wants to leave Ajax for some ´big club´ this summer. He also implies he's too good for Ajax.

What about PSV guys? They are becoming the laughing stock of the Eredivisie; they're going for the 4th choice manager now..

    cheers

    Wonder who'll snub them next...

First Jol snubs them (good on him)

then Rutten rather stays at FC Twente (good on him)

then Vergoossen writes in a local newspaper he wants to be PSV manager, so PSV ask him, but his Japanese club Grampus Eight won't allow him to go...

    wonder who's next...

Aye, in terms of performance we really did well...shame about the result. But to be honest I thought it was the best Feyenoord v ajax in ages! It had everything.

Hope we can continue this line, but the difference with the performances at home and away is like day and night. It's still too hard to say where this Feyenoord stands.

True. Of all the contenders we look most like a team though. Hope the performance v Ajax will give us the confidence to start the same way & grab Groningen by the throat from kick off. A bit of positive agression has been lacking in our squad.

Think Slory in stead of Hofs will improve our attacking options. Think we should move Guzzie to the left and Bruins central. He has a brilliant understanding with Slory (kept Excelsior up last season) would be crazy to put them on opposite wings.

I am glad there will be no Zuiderzeelijn because all the Noorderlingers would go to the west with that line...

Erm, not exactly : studies have shown that a lot of Westerlingen would come to live in the North (where live is much better) if they had a fast connection to their sad jobs in the Randstad Wink

    Yep. Doesn't scare me.

Anyway till 2008 it's still Wouters in charge; thereafter it will be Vergoossen for half a season. Wouters will be Vergoossen's and Stevens' assistant.

So much for PSv's South American connection. Used to be a prerequisite to speak Spanish to be a PSV manager (because of the Spanish/Portuguese speakers from S-Am, where Philips has a decent network, hence all those signings). The Latino's will feel really at home with Huub & Jan...

    lol!

    PSV are doomed.

any more news on this ?

    VVV STILL EYEING GERMAN OPTION

VVV Venlo have confirmed that they are hoping to play their home Eredivisie clashes with Ajax and PSV in Germany.

VVV's De Koel stadium only holds 6,000 and the club are looking to maximise revenue potential by holding the prestige fixtures in a bigger stadium.

Limburg regional station L1 has reported that Borussia Monchengladbach have rejected a request to hold the games in their Borussia-Park stadium but VVV have announced they are looking elsewhere.

"We will inform our fans about a new option for the games soon," the club said in a statement.

"We are now busy trying to get the MSV Arena in Duisburg. That stadium has 30.000 seats."

VVV face Ajax on December 20, before taking on Eredivisie champions PSV on January 20.
