Fiorentina seem to have done enough. In a tough group, with both of their away games against the tougher opposition, they have done a good job.

    The Table:
    1. Fiorentina 5
    2. Villareal 4*
    3. Boleslav 3*
    4. AEK Athens 2*
    5. Elfsborf 1
    *game in hand

Now the viola just need a draw in their last game against Boleslav in florence, and there is a good chance that even that may not be necessary. AEK are in big trouble.

How lucky is that, just about scraped a 1-1 draw at home against a not very good Greek side whose goal was scored by a not very good Barça youth team reject.

Proves that the 2-2 against Bayern wasn't a "tactical masterclass" by Megson as some here were saying, but just a bad performance by Bayern...and their draw today underlines their continuing dip in form.

FT in Braga and a well deserved point for the Portuguese side.
Kinda sad for me to see that Braga is better at controling a game than Sporting is. If we had played with the composure that Braga did tonight, acception made on the weak goal conceded, we'd have made it through the CL group stage.

Braga never looked like losing control tonight. Did well in the final moments and they're looking good to finish near the top of this group.

Awful 1st half, brilliant 2nd half. We'd be an exellent side if we had good experience leader-esp central defenders, Zokora grew some brain cells and Huddlestone lost 8 stones.

Right now we're patchy and inconsistent due to those defensive frailty's. O yeh and an half-decent goalkeeper would be a starting block...

But....brilliant comeback nonetheless and good to show the tactical difference between Ramos and Jol...

Having theoretically already played their tougher matches, I think Braga's in good shape. They'll have to face Aris away from home, but I think Aris' motivation to face Braga might be a little lower than against Bolton for example as Braga isn't a 'big' club or from a big league. Braga's also got a draw at Bolton, so they're equal to the Greeks there. Having tied Bayern they'll feel they should be able to beat Red Star at home considering the Serbs haven't picked up a point yet.

    Portugal needs a strong Braga.

Braga seems like a more than decent side. I heard they beat Sporting 3-0 a couple of weeks ago. A fair result from what I've read.

Anyway, another sub-par performance by Bayern. I hope they'll find themselves again during the winter-break. Perhaps motivation is a factor and they'll be more focused once the knockout stages begin.

I'm sure they'll win easily in their last match at home against Saloniki. It being the last match this year should be motivation enough.

They're a good side without question. They should be higher up in the league than they are, which is why they've changed managers. TBH, the way Sporting have dropped points lately, Braga should be ahead of us by now...and if things were coming together they would be. That said, if things were coming together for Sporting they'd have a lot more points themselves.

a clean sheet, Motta getting 90 mins and doing well, a few too many chances for aberdeen late on but generally didn't give them too many openings, plenty of possession, a 2-0 win, rested players. did enough not great but its 3 points. it'll do.

The Aris fans will not allow their team to become any less motivated for the game with Braga.Having witnessed what its like in that stadium for the Red Star game,be sure that their fans will be driving them on to victory, and the team will respond. Will be a tough and interesting game for both teams.

Oh Kas, surely a man of your stature and intelligence would have known that such comments were made with tongues-firmly-in-cheek!

On the beloved Spuds- what a game, against the mighty Aak Aalborg we found ourselves 2-0 down and looking to be the laughing stock of Europe. Then a second half of action, quality and atmosphere at WHL and Ramos' boys in white are back on track.

Is there a worse defence in Europe than ours currently ? I doubt it. Luckily we have firepower going forward otherwise it wouldnt be far off the truth to say we would be relegated by Xmas!

Maybe, however if you would have seen our defending last night against the mighty powerhouse that is Aalborg, you'd liken our the back line to 4 drunks lost on a night out, likely to pass out at any moment and wake up on a park bench

Something needs to be done indeed. Kaboul has the makings of a good defender, just needs to settle in- been thrown in at the deep end this season. Didnt play last night had Chimbo and Dawson as centre backs. Disaster.

We miss King so much its ridiculous. I'd like us to to raid Boro for Woody in JJanuary- no harm in making a cheeky bid to test the waters, he cant be happy with how poorly they are doing this season.

Otherwise no doubt Ramos will look to Spain, which isnt a bad thing by any means, however I'd prefer us to remain an Englidsh/British based club wherever possible

Some stats from the one-man team :

    UEFA cup 2007 - 2008

    3 starts, 2 goals and 3 assists

    Champions League 2006 - 2007

    3 starts, 3 goals and 1 assist

    UEFA cup 2005 - 2006

    7 starts, 5 goals and 1 assist

So that's 10 goals and 5 assists in Europe in 13 starts for the past 2.5 season Yikes
