It's funny how far and how fast Berbatov's star has fallen.
Also looking forward to Tweedle justifying putting Bent higher than Torres in his top 10.

Torres will be above Bent. But not much. Adeabayor will be above Torres

I can see an argument for RVP and Berbatov being above Torres because he hasn't had a whole season yet. And Martins might be on the same level at the moment. But I'd only put Drogba and Rooney above him.
Adebayor

To be perfectly honest if it were judged on EPL peformances only, it would be too early to put Torres in and amongst others who have scored 50+ goals.
But the early indications are that he will be a massive hit, and become Liverpools most prolific striker since the departure of Owen. (i personally believe that Torres is a better all round player than Owen was at Liverpool, but perhaps not quite as convincing infront of goal, nevertheless he carves out so many opportunities, you can see him hitting 20-25 goals a season with relative ease.)

Except
- less goals overall
- less goals overall in every season to date, and playing mostly in a tougher league
- Torres first year in the EPL
- we are apparently a less attacking side than you

I was kinda joking. The tougher league arguement is bollocks though. Practically every recent EPL striker that has gone to La Liga has been a success; not just a success even, but amazing.

I was referring to Adebayor playing at Monaco and scoring 11 goals when Torres was scoring 20 in Spain.

Well, he was younger and he fell out with the coach, so didn't get to start many games for the last half of the season.

04/05---------11------------20
05/06---------1+4 ----------13
06/07----------12------------15
07/08----------7 -------------10

And that ignores the 2 seasons previous when Torres was in the first team and Adebayor wasn't.

I know you love to hype up your players, and Adebayor is definately a talented striker, not least because of his size and ball control, but lets face it Torres is in another league in terms of penetration for a striker, the ace up your sleave is RVP, if hes ever fit enough.

The first numbers are the year, the second Ade's scoring record and the 3rd Torres...

Adebayor could be the next Drogba. He's still only 23. sure, he ain't as good as Torres though. I was joking about that.

Quite true, Drogba is a late bloomer after all.
Torres could be the next Henry

What have we learned from this?
That some people don't read threads before replying to them?
And that Lennon is STILL criminally overrated and Solano is STILL criminally underrated?
Both.

*or midfield players that play on the right but you would probably not class them as proper wingers. e.g. Hleb.

I think Solano is in decline now Kimbo, though still a quality player, as he has proved everywhere he's played and in every position.

Solano isn't underrated, he is what he is.... a technically astute player, who was never good enough to play for a team challenging for he title, the fact hes considered in the top 10 still at his current age and performances i think is possibly overrated.

He's definitely in decline, he has been for a few years, he's slow as an ox now, but he's still got a great brain and right foot. How some of the names mentioned can be named aheda of him is beyond me. Lennon? Park J who? Benayoun? Routledge? Pennant? And even Milner. It's ridiculous.

Milner, Lennon, Benayoun are all more IMO more effective players than Solano today.
Hes third in the pecking order at West Ham for christs sake behind Lungberg and Dyer.

You like stats, right FG? Well Nobbys stats aren't bad for a middle of the road player.

9th highest EPL assister of all time. That's 117 in 284 games, plus 46 goals. And this season he has 5 assists and a goal in 6 games, far more productive than the more "fashionable" names you(and i) mentioned.
