I know he isn't, hence why I said he'd be a good replacement for Riquelme.
Surely with Van Bommel, Ze Roberto, Ottl & Dimichelis; Bayern have enough players for the DM role?

Another AM?! They've already got Cani, Cazorla, Pires and Mati Fernandez

The problem isn't defensively, it's going forward, the only central midfield player that seems to be able to open a defence is Ze Roberto. Bayern ATM are too dependent on Ribery. If Ribery doesn't play well Bayern won't win the game.

He's better than Cani, Carzorla & Pires. Besides, Carzorla & Pires can play wide. He's much better defensively than Riquelme anway, he's AM-CM hybrid from what I've seen.

Name the other two.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan (for example) have not done this, but they are BIG clubs.

You must have got it confused with the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. The UEFA Cup was its successor; sadly UEFA does not recognise the Inter-Cities Fair Cup. The 3 European titles (recognised by UEFA) are the former Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Cup and the European Cup. Bayern Munich is one of 3 clubs to have won these 3 cups once.

It's not that he won't leave because of a step up, otherwise he would have been interested in a move to us over the summer. It's because he, like Totti, wants to stay at his hometown club.

Re: Bayern linked with Italians
reports suggest that Toni wants Pirlo to join Bayern
+
the Swiss international Behrami of Lazio is now linked with Bayern
+
under observation are:
Amantino Mancini, Goran Pandew and Gaby Muningayi
------------------------
not sure about any of them
why would you need Pirlo when you have Kroos and Ottl
that's what I say

Re: Bayern linked with Italians
I wonder whether Bayern are in fact changing as a club more than we like to think
traditionally, they would get the hottest Germans + the hottest Bundesliga stars of their biggest opponents + half-baked-alleged-foreign-stars-in-the-making like Karimi...
now they have spent big money on foreign stars like Toni, Ribery, with de Rossi and others probably following
word now has it that Schlaudraff is on his way out; Lahm is blatently thinking of leaving and Poldi and Schweini will not continue to sit quietly on the bench when the next superstar is about to join
in other words: guys like Poldi and Schweini will probably prefer to play for other Bundesliga clubs in the future, with Bayern preferring to go for established foreigners, thereby strengthening the rest of the league
Bremen and Schalke will be the biggest winners of this scenario
an interesting development

I think it´s great when Bayern buy star players from abroad. It´s not only good for Schalke, Bremen etc., but also for the whole Bundesliga for many different reasons.

it will also help understanding different styles of games , their strengths and weaknesses by having a more multicultural environment which will only help in the long run.

I don't think Pirlo would play in Germany. Ever. Neither would De Rossi. Italy, despite its problems, is the standard on the pitch. Italy and Milan are champions. Serie A is part of the big 3.
I know you have a penchant for satire and the ironic, but if you actually believe that others will follow Toni, who moved abroad because Della Valle didn't want him to move to Inter and Calciopoli, you are seriously mistaken.
