he was good too. i remember back when i used fear Celta as a team. him and Karpin could have been good together but i think they had problems with each other. i was surprised when i found out he was quite old.

Zidane at his peak with real madrid, it was beautiful to watch an on song zidane.

Figo - Everything was smooooth and natural.

    C.Ronaldo - always entertaining.

Ronaldo with barca- he was just breath-taking but for the other clubs he was not the same.

Fabregas- I enjoy watching him play more than most other players.

    Dinho 04-05 not otherwise.

    zola

Rivaldo - Incredible everytime i watched him

Stoichkov and romario just for that one game Sad a joy to watch even though it wasnt a joy.

Ronaldo is no way near Cantona when it comes to being a joy to watch (also when it comes to footy in general).

How could I forget the King. Add him to the list. I would also like to include Paul Scholes (minus the tackling Very Happy) and Edgar Davids.

You'd have been 5 when he played his last professional game?

A real shame - I was 10 when he retired so can still remember him as I'd been following football from the age of 5. I remember being devastated when he finally decided that his injury was such that he;d never recover.

He was legendary... I had the (mis)fortune of following his career with the wrong coloured stripes, and he was devastating. Sad that his career came to a premature end!!

Your father probably knows what he is talking about...

Van Basten was even better to watch before 1987 (when he had the injury that hampered him throughout his carreer; the Van Basten most foreigners know already had 1 fixed ankle). Unfortunately for MVB he mainly played in average Ajax sides, so he couldn't shine in Europe.

Kluivert in top shape wasn't bad either...

It was a sad day in football when he retired, my Dad during the late 80’s even used to visit the San Siro to see him play (also the other great players on show) he remembered when Van Basten broke into the Ajax team, never thought he would become the great player he was. There’s a nice story when Van Basten substituted Cruyff in a game for Ajax in the early 80's.

MVB's record at Ajax was about a goal a game, I know...

In one season he even got 36 in 26 games I think! Yikes
