he was good too. i remember back when i used fear Celta as a team. him and Karpin could have been good together but i think they had problems with each other. i was surprised when i found out he was quite old.Jaime wrote:Emilio Butragueño

Don't ruin a good thread with your drunken ramblings.

Ronaldo is no way near Cantona when it comes to being a joy to watch (also when it comes to footy in general).CruijffMas wrote:jdg loves st. nicholas wrote:mentioned him in my 1st post in this threadCruijffMas wrote:Not many here rate Michael Laudrup?

Him, Bergkamp, Ronaldo (especially at his best) and Zidane make my top 4. Now the likes of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are closing in.

Well he deserves his own outright mention really. In his peak, an incredible player to watch.

I got to see him and Cruyff at Bergkamp's testimonial. Not quite at their peaks but it sort of counts!

Van Basten was even better to watch before 1987 (when he had the injury that hampered him throughout his carreer; the Van Basten most foreigners know already had 1 fixed ankle). Unfortunately for MVB he mainly played in average Ajax sides, so he couldn't shine in Europe.Sheffield gunner wrote:CruijffMas wrote:One of my great shames was never seeing this player play.
