Considering this is on UEFA's site, I have given preference to performance in European competitions of last year - hence my strong votes for Sevilla and Milan players.

Well should RVN really be there, if this is based on European performances?

I'd be tempted to play either Rooney or Inzaghi in his place, if based on European games only.

Well if I went fully by European performances I was ending up with a midfield of Gattusso-Pirlo-Seedorf-Kaka *and* Inzaghi in attack! This was mainly due to some bad categorising on the part of UEFA, and I didn't think Milan were so utterly special that I had to put 5 of their players in my team. So in the end I bent my rule a bit and went with Van Nistelrooy, who I didn't rate or like much but after he became top scorer last year in a different league playing with $h!t teammates, I just had to admit that the guy is class.

Pirlo? Really? Thought he wasn't that special, except for the Milan home game against Utd.

Seedorf is certainly in with a shout though. If based on European performances then I still think you're right to have Essien there

He was one of the most exciting LB's in 2007, leading his team to win the U21 EC.

....still as a Dutchman not even I would contemplate voting for him

It's worrying the amount of times Alvez's name is cropping up.

come on calidad, he may have been over hyped, but he's still a decet enough player, although a complete C0ck of a bloke, and the competition imho hasn't been consistantly better
