Re: 3 Man Utd fans stabbed in Rome
Well I don't trust the press when they are breaking a story as they always get it wrong. Remember the fan that got shot over there? They made it sound at the beginning like he was a thug involved in a fight when it was actually an accident and he wasn't involved at all.
All I'm saying is wait till the details are released.

Stabbed a 16 yr old ffs They arrested two british nationals, but probably for calling the police useless wankers or something like that.
Anyway they shouldn't have bothered travelling to rome for such a no nothing game, they had the chance to get their money back.

God, stuff like this makes you wanna spit on Italy. It's a fucking shame, these people aren't even real fans! It's ugly enough when italians meet up to beat the $h!t out of each other, but when they (again) take someone other down it just pisses me off

Re: 3 Man Utd fans stabbed in Rome
Well Utd away supporters are so different then their homecrowd. I remember in 1997 or so, we played them at home, and their fans caused trouble etc. But in the end we won so you would have thought they learned their lesson!

Re: 3 Man Utd fans stabbed in Rome
Fey and Sparta are right...why are English fans always the common denominator in violence for European matches? Many other fans travel in large numbers (though not as frequently), yet we never hear anything as regular?

What about the Lazio troubles earlier in the season?

English incidents get more headlines. Aberdeen and Atletico had big problems, but you didn't hear about it for example.
Anyway it's pointless talking about this if people come to the conclusion english people are to blame when they get stabbed by a bunch of nutters.

I'm referring to European matches...we know violence is an issue in the domestic league in Italy.

Well what I'm trying to figure out is what they did to provoke these "nutters"...or are you saying they were unprovoked stabbings?
Based on my own experiences, I'm guessing there was a lot of booze and just a bit more than some "banter".

Re: 3 Man Utd fans stabbed in Rome
Well no idea, but when a 16 yr old gets stabbed i think maybe i would question the people stabbing him rather than if he provoked them in some way. Last time we played them the fans said a group of ultras were waiting for them at the bridge. Im guessing the same thing happenend here. I doubt there are fans stupid enough to cause trouble with supporters as crazy as Roma's in their country being so outnumbered.

Jesus apparantly the fans clashed on the bridge outside the stadium, I went there this year, it must have been pretty scary stuff let me tell you!
