This is the second time since he promised to stop talking about Italy that he is saying $h!t. Domenech = no class, I wonder how the french tolerate him?

I hope Mutu and Chivu shut him up in their first game this summer.

Domenech In New Tirade: Italy Play For Draws

France boss Raymond Domenech has launched yet another attack against the Italian national team, accusing them of playing for draws. Domenech is public enemy number one in the Italian peninsula, after numerous outbursts against the Azzurri and Serie A over the past 10 years. The animosity between Domenech and Italy hit new levels in the summer, when he accused the Italy Under-21’s of buying a referee back in 2000. After numerous other verbal assaults, the ex-Lyon tactician promised not to talk about Italy again until France played them at Euro 2008. However this pledge only lasted a few days, as Domenech blasted Serie A over the Calciopoli scandal last summer.

He has now begun another storm by accusing the Azzurri of playing for draws. “The game with Italy is a game with tension, one that causes you stress,” said Domenech. “We know that the Italians play for draws and indeed their players say among themselves before the match, ‘if we get a draw, even at home, we are pleased’.”

Domenech was also referring to the game in September when Italy and France drew 0-0 in Milan in a crucial Euro 2008 qualifier. The 55-year-old accused the Azzurri of playing for the draw that game, an assertion he clearly still believes in. “For them it was a good game. It was necessary for them to manage the game.”

You lose you would bemoan the lack of luck and fortune, losing on penalties is a lottery and its not a habit you want. For a nation like Holland to be getting to semi finals in 3 out of their last 4 tournaments is good, but then you have to break that glass ceiling, now you need that little bit of luck. As for the Italians playing and winning under pressure, its not always the case as recent years showed us.

    Dignified as a Donadoni!!

Must admire da man, he has refused to respond each time... even when Domenech call italians "cheats".

Donadoni Refuses To Be Drawn Into Domenech Argument
Azzurri boss Roberto Donadoni has refused to be drawn into a confrontation with his French opposite number after Raymond Domenech’s most recent tirade against the Italian national team. Domenech, who has a long history of outbursts against Italy and Serie A, has now accused Italy of playing for draws during games. “The game with Italy is a game with tension, one that causes you stress,” the controversial Frenchman said. “We know that the Italians play for draws and indeed their players say among themselves before the match, ‘if we get a draw, even at home, we are pleased’.”

Donadoni has always refused to react to Domenech’s comments in the past, and he was at his diplomatic best when asked for his opinion on the ex-Lyon tactician’s latest comments. “He does not lose the chance to say these kind of things and similarly I do not lose the chance to not comment on them,” said the Don. “I believe it is up to you [journalists] to comment on what was said.” Italy face France in their final group game at Euro 2008 next summer, in what should prove to be a fiery encounter.

Domenech is Moaninho on international level. The best thing is to ignore him as he's not likely to stop being the messenger of all those cr@p.

One day he may seriously piss Donadoni and we will have gentelman duels right reintroduced.

Yes but a nation's character shows itself over time. And over time Italy have 4 World Cups and a European Cup to show for it.

The Netherlands have a European Cup and nothing else.

There's no comparison really. As for Axe, who would rather lose valiantly than watch his side play like Italy: whatever helps you sleep man.

Its not as if the World will end tomorrow, 100 years time who knows Holland could have won more WCs, the past is the past you can only learn from it. I don't recognise the 2 World Cups in the 1930's how many teams actually entered the tournament? plus one was won in dodgy circumstances.

zzz this reminds me the never ending story about Zidane and Materrazi. You know Bluenine, medias can tell you whatever they want. I am not defending Domenech, but I find it strange there was absolutely nothing on the French website L'equipe which usually put Domenech's comments regards to France or Italy. The fact that this interview was only published by goal, which is a pro Italian web site, makes it unreliable. Goal = Sun

Actually Domenech latest comments on all these stories were somehow comical, he admitted that he made a mistake regards to saying Italian were cheaters.

I don't extrapolate his comments to the whole of France. I quite like France as a nation, football and otherwise. Used to be a french fan before I became an Italian fan... But I can't stand Domenech anymore and want any team this nutcase coaches to lose, nation or club. Sorry mate, he is a poor ambassdor for your football.

Bluenine is Indian living in London.

I am the Canadian living in Canada (I also lived in the US before that). My Dad is Indian, and my mom is Pakistani. I have supported Milan and Italy since I was 8 or 9 (so 20 years). Bluenine has been supporting Italian football for the last 18-20 years also.

It is true, however, that Bluenine and I don't have a real reason other than the love of Italian football to support Italy. I wish I lived in Europe, especially in Milan, like you. I envy people who can go to games whenever they want.

I meant if Domenech ever coaches a club in the future... I am completely neutral to french clubs or players at the mo.

Anyway, all these stories are helping medias which are not really focusing on football but on other things.

Internazionale, as the name suggests,................... you will be surprised how popular the club is in Asia, even before we starting winning under Mancio....

i am Indian, currentky live in London.

I have been an Inter fan for almost 20 years now, and was slowly converted into an Italian football fan just before WC 1990. Mostly coz of my love for Serie A... Before that, I was very country neutral, I remember supporting France in 1986, mostly coz of Platini - who was my first fav footballer since 1984 Euro.

yank or canadian, living in london, supporting all things serie A and italy I think.

    used to support france...

if he ever became an England supporter you might win the world cup Wink

Bluenine is Indian living in London.

I am the Canadian living in Canada (I also lived in the US before that). My Dad is Indian, and my mom is Pakistani. I have supported Milan and Italy since I was 8 or 9 (so 20 years). Bluenine has been supporting Italian football for the last 18-20 years also.

It is true, however, that Bluenine and I don't have a real reason other than the love of Italian football to support Italy. I wish I lived in Europe, especially in Milan, like you. I envy people who can go to games whenever they want.

    Sad
