now im not saying they are but they did get voted the 2nd and 3rd best players overall in the world last year for their club form... (however of course this was all because of the sun,daily star hype etc etc )....

nothing wrong with his comments... he was probably asked all these questions in a press conference or some sort of press release.... i don't like the guy but there is no point picking on him just for the sake of it

Lumphard has proven nothing. He's an average midfield player.

Gerrard is far better than him and even he has yet to find his feet at international level and produce for his country as he does for his club. At least Gerrard is honest about himself. With that kind of attitude he can progress even further.

What the article SHOULD have said, to appease our German friends, is "possess two of the World's greatest GOAL SCORING midfielders..."

46 (approx?) goals in all comps between them last season..

Actually, Lampard had a very fine Euro 2004, scored 3 times, againt France, Portugal and Croatia, and one definitely one of Englands best players in that tournament- and was far more impressive than Ballack was...

He also proved himself rather well against Bayern 2 seasons ago (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MW36KDtpCI), and really whilst certainly not a dominating midfielder, or WC imo, seems to get himself in the positions to score, and score with aplomb, on enough occasions for him to be slightly more than an above average midfielder...

Lets get this right.

At the moment Gerrard and Lampard technically ARE the best two midfielders in the World - as voted for by all international coaches.

I don't see how people can argue with this -its solid in stone...

klose...?...when?...its not hard to score against costa rica or a sweden B team..sorry...against italy you saw what happens when hes up against top opponents..not ONE attempt at goal let alone actually scoring..

and how has ballack proved himself?...his 'international trophy' cabinet in his living room is as empty as lampards...and winning titles with bayern in germany isnt that hard is it?..naturally...the same can be said for lampard at chelsea...but thats my point...
