Runner up definitely (Capello has winner mentality). Will have to accept the fate to fail against mighty Ivory Coast Laughing

Whats the weather like in South Africa in June?

Our players will probably have heat stroke after a few training sessions and go out in the group stage. Ale

QF... Capello is the best coach England could have got, but he is not a magician.

England will go far, will look like contenders and play like that, but mostly likely lose to one of the favourite in the KO rounds.... 2nd round, QF or semis. My guess is QF.

And IMO that won't be a failure.

It depends how ruthless he is. By the sunds of things, he likes players that are model professionals. If he takes that approach, then all he'd be left with is Owen Hargreaves and a bunch of league one players.

In all honesty though, I think the only real worry is a keeper.

We have some very good defenders and I think we have enough in midfield to on our day beat the best out there. We need to choose ball retainers rather than Hollywood players though. Its oke to have one, or maybe two of these types of players but to function we also need water carriers. Still, Capello seems to rate the team over the individual so I'm sure he'll figure that one out.

It'll be interesting to see who he bloods for England in future.

If he watched Villa yesterday, or indeed any other game this season, he's sure to give Young a chance.

Also, I'm sure that Robbo won't be our keeper - so its probably going to be one from Carson, Hart or Foster.

Up front he apparently likes target men. Lets hope Ashton stays fit or else we're left with a hardworking, yet hardly world class Heskey, or Crouch - who isn't really a target man anyway!

He doesn't particularly like wingers - he prefers them to be able to cut in, which should guarantee Joe cole a place at least.

What if he tries to utilize Gerrard and Lampard in the same team? Does this make him worse than McClaren and Eriksson put together...Smile

I think it is winter in South Africa when the tournament will be played. Capello will do reasonably well. Won't win it, but will do enough to get extended for next Euros, which he will do very well in, possibly win it. Don't think England will travel well to South Africa and expect at least one African team to pull a surprise and do better than Cameroon or Senegal previously.

    Last 16, if it's a media team.

Last 4, if it's a proper balanced team that ignores images & profile.
