Does he still play for Lyon - not sure as he is listed as a Betis players on some sites, but not others? Also is his goal for America Mineiro v Vila Nova, timed at 3.17 seconds the fastest ever goal, or just in Brasilian football? Is America Mineiro a feeder team for Feyenoord?

We have some sort of agreement with them yes..but we always seem to pick the wrong players. We even tested Fred but he didnt got picked by the club....very stupid...but we had a lot of Fred cases in the past..Pepe, Nedved and a lot more!

Are you sure Fred was rejected. I heard that he didn't want to come to Netherlands and Feyenoord got something for him as they had some rights to him.

Because Van Persie left we needed a left winger (that was van persie's position at Feyenoord). That's why we exchanged Fred (who we owned, but we had no need for him, we had strikers) for Magrao (and kept a smale stake in Fred, so we got some money when he was sold to Lyon). Margao was pretty useless.

Fred is still at Lyon, but not in the squad for this weekend...main speculation in France links him to PSG rather than Betis.

Thanks. Found it all interesting as I was told that Fred was the best player produced by Feyenoord through their foreign feeder team system. Do you think you got good value for him or feel totally ripped off?

No we didn't get good value for him. We got Magrao & 1M. Don't feel robbed though. We just have some cooperation deal witha few Brazilian clubs, which gives us first rights on 1-2 palyers each season. Our own technical staff/scouts came up, with the idea to 'exchange' Fred, who scored a hattrick the weekend before and already was rated high, for Magrao, who was rated far less. We fucked up ourselves.

We're good at that, last summer was OK (Makaay), but usually we make a fool of ouselves in the transfer market, sell Gullit for 500k, sell Henke Larsson for 250k, can go on for ages. Of course we pay far too much for useless players too

Normally Fred will go to P.S.G, but I don't know if they can pay the price asked. There are a few clubs in England interested but nothing concrete. I would rather we sell Baros instead, but he has proved many times that he's a c**t, such as going back to Brazil and not telling anyone, coming a week or two too late and the same, not telling anyone at the club why he's missing. Typical Brazilian behavior. He got divorce and his life went downhill. Adriano, Fred, Ronaldo, they all seem to get divorce.

    Yup Fred almost at Paris.

I find this kind of players very strange. For me there's not a big difference between Fred and Kuyp..There are similar.Strangly they are regular for their national teams (wc national teams like Brazil and Holland) but have huge problems at top clubs level.I don't know if Fred will be a success at PSG but a guy playing for brazil is surely good enough for a team like PSG! <Ale>

but he already was a c*nt in Brazil so is no surprise that he turned up to be not very professional in France, funny thing, the Brazilians that go to Germany seem much more mature and professional, but then a again before go to Germany they are fully informed that you dont mess up with Germans. ok

I shouldn't have put Fred in the same baskets as other Brazilians, but Ronaldhino did similar thins during his spell at P.S.G. The thing with Fred was that he was great until he started having problems with his wife. Aulas, who's usually a tough man, was very nice and allowed him to stay longer in Brazil to sort out his personal problems. What happened after wasn't good, Fred got injured just before the copa america, and Lyon recalled him to check his injury out, but he ignored calls, and overstayed his trip without giving any news. I don't think this is very professional and nice to the club.
Cris and Juninho are legends, they are very professional honest and really loved by the fans:Ale: <Ale> . I know that Fred had personal problems in his life, but he made a lot of silly and selfish decisions which caused his departure. The management stated that if he had been a bit more professional he would have for sure stayed many years at Lyon.

Dos Santos went back to Sao Paulo on loan because of personal problems. This really sucks because he was a great player. I hope he sorts out his problems and comes back. He was really liked her as well.
