Re: Kevin Keegan new Newcastle boss
The only reason why the big clubs win is because of money that is all plain and simple. If Keegan comes out of this season 50-50 he will of done better than any manager in the EPL considering its Newcastle. imo.

I don't get your point about him struggling because teams WANT to play football. Surely that would suit a team with his style? Physical teams that sit deep and keep it tight are the ones we're more likely to struggle with. Also going by your logic surely Robsons Newcastle should've failed, and Jols Tottenham? I can't really make any sense of what you're saying tbh.
Robson's Newcastle teams failed, he didn't win anything with them. He was on his way to probably winning something, but your man destroyed a great team when he gave Nobby away to Aston Villa. I still remember the infuriated Toon army when Robson told them "trust me, I have two very good replacements for Solano in Bowyer and Ambrose". The Toon army knew right then the old man had lost the plot! Newcastle are still looking for a player half as good as Solano as far as I see it.
That team had great balance with Nobby on the right and Robert on the left. That Newcastle midfield could go toe to toe with Europe's best, but Robson destroyed that great team's chemistry.
Perhaps I'm wrong regarding Keegan, but I just don't see him being successful with the competition he will be facing now. Exhibit one is Ferguson, the Scott CAN'T hack it on his own anymore. The league is much stronger now especially at the top, and now you have Sven and Ramos in there as well FFS!. Fergie NEEDS Queiroz to have a chance against Wenger, Benítez, Mourinho, Ramos, Sven. We'll see how Keegan copes against these heavyweights of coaching (Jose's gone from the EPL we know), these guys can win you a game after their halftime team adjustments with their football wits.

Face the music brother! WTF did Robson win at Newcastle? Absolutely NOTHING! He was on his way to winning something -of that I am convinced!- but he destroyed that awesome team with ONE TRANSFER!
I know it's harsh judging coaches by how many trophies they win, but that's the nature of the beast, and Robson didn't win a damn thing at Newcastle. In fact, he destroyed what was a good thing.

Re: Kevin Keegan new Newcastle boss
As Ive said, Keegan, besides all his other qualities, does have a good, insightful footballing brain. The number of players he developed at Newcastle is testament to this; he turned Rob Lee from a support striker or a wide player into perhaps the best central midfielder in the country, turned Steve Howey from a centre forward into a top quality defender; and he brought to the league some of the most talented foreigners it has seen.
The ability to get teams playing attractive, exciting football is, again, testament to a footballing brain as well as to the way he inspires his teams. There is sometimes the tendency to view a defensive coach as a tactical mastermind, because hes looking at other teams and reacting to them, whereas attacking coaches are scorned when it comes to tactics, the idea being they play more off-the-cuff, with less tactical awareness. This is unfair besides from ignoring the much nobler achievement of the attacking coach.
Keegan certainly isnt some football half-wit, but at the same time its true that his biggest strength is in inspiring teams and creating a positive atmosphere - and this shouldnt be downplayed, because the ability to get players playing for you, the ability to get the very best out of players (and nobody is better at this than Keegan), the ability to get a crowd on your side even, especially a crowd at St James', is all just as significant as being especially astute tactically.

A man takes a team from relegation candidates to the top 4 and he gets called a failure? Bullshit.
I can't really be arsed to go through this with you again in detail though, it's like trying to explain evolution to an evangelist. You just ignore everything i say because it doesn't fit your agenda.
Bobby Robson had bad team, Bobby made that team good, Bobby took that team to the top 4, Bobby got old and started having health problems, team started to lose discipline and dropped out of top 4 because no one was playing well including your inca posterboy who was playing but doing nothing on the field, inca boy leaves in janaury. Newcastles form picks up ad they scrape 5th place. Bobby is sacked at the wrong time by incompetant chairman, incompetant chairman signs bad manager as replacement. So as much as you want to deny it the team was on the decline long before inca boy left. Feel free to ignore everything i've said an carry on with you bullshit.

You just see things in a different way that's all brother. Don't forget that there's also a much different way of seeing things, some call it the continental way, the worldly way or whatever.
Fact is, when Solano left to Villa, Newcastle dropped from 3rd to 5th in the ensuing season, and Villa jumped from 16th to 6th with Nobby's arrival. I remember that clearly. Nobby became top goalscorer and assistman at Villa while Newcastle dropped to 15th. Then the Toon army wanted him back again, and with Nobby back Newcastle jumped to 7th or so. In fact, Nobby turned his back on Benítez and Liverpool to return to the club he loved so much.
Fat Sam also took a team from relegation to the EPL and finished 6th one time. You also thought he was a good coach, but now you don't want him anywhere near Newcastle for the rest of your life. Fat Sam's accomplishments ,if you will, in the EPL aren't that different from Robson. So according to you Robson triumphed at Newcastle.

It's got nothing to do with seeing things in a different way. The FACT is that results went down hill long before Solano left. That's a FACT Puro. Do you know what a FACT is? Here's another FACT, Newcastle form picked up and we shot up to 5th after Solano left.
Sure, lets compare Robson to Fat Sam. I mean what has Bobby Robson ever done?
2 Dutch Championships
2 Portuguese Championships
1 Copa del Rey
1 UEFA Cup
1 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup
1 FA Cup
1 Portuguese Cup
Rubbish manager. It was all Solano. Peru is great etc etc blah blah blah.

No, I must not know what a fact is. Robson didn't win a damn thing at Newcastle. Is that a fact Kimbo?
We are discussing how Robson did at Newcastle. Of course the old man could coach, no doubt about it. What the f@ck did Robson win at Newcastle? Unfortunately coaches are judged by "what have you done for me lately" how many trophies do you have? I don't judge coaches like that, the business does that for us Kimbo bro!
What I'm sure of, is that Robson destroyed Newcastle. Your team STILL can't recover to this day from his fiasco at the tail end of his tenure.

Oh yes, I almost forgot, I'm the anti-English guy. FFS! the elite of English football clubs must be biased and anti-English too, and the English FA as well. Why stop there? Bilic must not like English football too because he says his team is way superior to the one he KO in the qualifiers. These are not facts, these are just made up bullshite from yours truly like always.
A reporter asked Bilic, "why did England lose?" Bilic said, because we're much better than you, you have no excuses to make, that's the truth". Yep, Bilic is one biased anti-English cocksucker too.

Re: Kevin Keegan new Newcastle boss
So, some interesting bits from Keegan's press conference today, at which he was officially presented as our new manager.
First of all, he confirmed that Ashley initially got in touch with him a week yesterday - which would further bring into question the theory that we actually offered Redknapp the job last Friday.
And he also said that he will be speaking to Shearer, and would love him at the club in some position, provided there is a role that is right for him. Which strikes me as a bold, confident move on Keegan's part. Keegan is the one manager Shearer could work under without any real risk of conflict or speculation. And that Keegan would be willing to have Shearer at the club suggests to me that he is very confident of being successful.
As for Shearer, he has supported Keegan's appointment wholeheartedly and with obvious pleasure and excitement. The fact that he has been somewhat ambiguous when it comes to taking a role under Keegan - saying that he would love to speak to him, but that he isn't sure if he wants to be a number two - is two things; it's probably the truth, in that I'm sure he hasn't considered the possibility of being Keegan's assistant prior to this point, and it's also a way of supporting Keegan rather than discounting any contact, whilst at the same time it doesn't put Keegan under pressure to give him a job working under him.
Anyway, some selected quotes:
"I know the club as a player and manager and know what it’s like.
"I know what the fans want. Some of the guys who haven't had that experience would have had to come and find it out. This is a very special club. It is not a normal football club and people outside the area will never understand.
"I think I'm the best qualified person to come here and do that and I’ve got the chance to come here and show people and, more importantly, the fans that I can.
"I’ve got a head start on this. The job ahead doesn't scare me. When I’ve gone into other jobs there are a lot of questions to be answered. I know those questions and answers here."
"It's possible to win a cup, it's possible for this club to break into the top four - not overnight but it's possible."
"The game is pretty much the same, the way people have talked you feel like you've been out the game a 100 years, but I've been away three years and that time apart has helped me."
All excellent stuff. Keegan also gave his backing to Barton and to Owen. I'm sure everyone will start with a clean slate under him, and futures will depend on the ability of players to play how Keegan wants them to play.

Ah yes el Tino Asprilla, the one player Newcastle should've never signed. As soon as Asprilla came to the team, he messed up the balance up front. Not Asprilla's fault that his move affected the harmony of Newcastle's attack under Keegan. A disaster signing if you ask me, Tino got some goals sure, but the team was disjointed as soon as he arrived at Newcastle.

Sure, but everyone here knows that. It's an outside possibility that you are actually 35, and just a bit slow and with a massive racial/national/political chip on your shoulder.

You know, this is the way a lot of people feel about you being on this board. You constantly 'button' in on conversations and turn otherwise civil exchanges into repetitive slanging matches. You don't even make up for it by saying anything interesting, original or well informed.
To see you berating another for this sort of behaviour is a farce of hypocrisy and premature ejaculation.
