The Sun think Corinthians is Argentinian! Hahaha!

I just got up to a big morning laugh after reading this. I just couldn't believe they would allow this level of incompetence in a major newspaper, even The Sun:

ARSENE WENGER is close to winning his £18million battle with Manchester United for Carlos Tevez.

The Argentine will be in London today to undergo a medical before rubber-stamping his move to the Gunners.

Strike star Tevez, 22, has always insisted he preferred London ahead of Manchester.

And it is a big blow for Old Trafford boss Alex Ferguson, who had Tevez at No 2 on his shopping list after Bayern Munich’s England ace Owen Hargreaves.

It is understood boss Wenger and the Gunners had been willing to offer Tevez a five-year deal — although United could have topped their wages.

Tevez, among Argentina’s best-paid players on around £20,000 a week, was yesterday trying to sort out a cash wrangle with his Argentine club Corinthians.

He was in Paris with club president Alberto Dualib to negotiate loyalty bonuses and other payments before deciding on his destination.

And it now looks as if Wenger has put one over on old foe Fergie.

that is an apalling mistake - how can they expect to be taken seriously?

I would like to think its a speed of light typing error... but its not. If its already so hard for them to know there is life outside the Dover, imagine after a whole ocean...

I once wrote to the Sun and got an apology from them - shoddiest journalism of the century!

Was that over the Niccolo Galli gaffe.

Well, at least The Sun was in the right direction.... Brasil is not that far away from Argentina, is it?

Wrong!

Corinthians are Brazilian, its tantamount to saying that Beckham plays for Italian club Real Madrid.

If your journalists can't be bothered to do the research then maybe you should be employing someone like me that actually KNOWS something about the game.

What's sad is that knowing that Corinthians is Brasilian doesn't even require research. Anyone who watches football on a regular basis should know where Corinthians is from. The writers from the Sun do this for a living and they still made the mistake of mixing both countries up. Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe it.
