So is Van Nistelrooy. So this means that we'll be missing out on:
Robben, RVN, Saviola, Metzelder, Ramos (suspension), and Sneijder
wow seems a good chance Real Madrid will be going out. I read some comments from Madrid fans talking about the midfield and attack, but that defence will be the problem. Pepe is just back from awhile out, Heinze is very dodgy, Torres is still young and makes mistakes. Casillas has to be on top form tonight.

I really hope that if we fail to create enough chances in the second half, Schuster will IMMEDIATELY make substitutions after half time. We'll surely enjoy plenty of possession just like in the first game, but this time we can't afford to be equal or behind in the score at any stage. What I don't like about this lineup is that we'll be heavily relying on Robinho's individual skill, as you mentioned. In the first leg it was Robben who made this lineup work by running riot in the wing but Robinho just came back from injury so nothing is certain with him.
We may just need a Dutch inspiration in party-boy Drenthe in the second half

And hopefully that will mean that at half time he'd be substituted for Cicinho, whom Robinho should rape, pilage, and barbecue with a bit of tabasco.

Whats with the bitchy attitude? The way you're acting, one would think Arsenal got knocked out last night. I suppose you're frustrated that Roma will be going out tonight though...
I hear Ferrari might also be starting!

I'm not acting bitchy, maybe it's the nerves getting to me. Make no mistake this is a big tie for us. Being the only Italian side to get QF CL money would be huge.
We will see, I'm confident this team will not make the mistakes that were made 1 year ago. If we hold our own though and play to our potential we will progress, 100%. They have Robinho but we have Mancini terrorising from the left so it all evens out.
By all reports Juan has recovered well and will start alongside Philippe.

He may, he may. As long as all 7 goals are unsavable then I won't blame him.

I hear Spaghetti is saying that Roma will attack from the start, which is exactly the same mistake they made against Man Utd. They should play on the counterattack, it suits their style. Will be interesting to see Mancini up against Torres.

I said exactly the same thing on the Roma board. Everyone wants us to go gung ho from the beginning, but an end to end match will ruin our chances. I'm hoping for a calm mature opening to the match, unfortunately I think we'll see something similar to the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. That's why a lot rests on Pizarro/Aquilani and DDR to set a tempo to the match and play on our terms.
Did you see the video of the team coming out of the Airport? Everyone was running to Cicinho trying to get an interview with him. I think the Spanish press think he is one of the stars of the team, he aint even a starter.

Didnt he say that in the first leg aswell? im pretty sure roma will be rather defensive and who can blame them when they are playing away with a lead.also i think that playing us in a open game is more dangerous imo. we are worse against heavily defended sides.BoBo Vieri wrote:il piccolo Coccodrillo wrote:BoBo Vieri wrote:il piccolo Coccodrillo wrote:BoBo Vieri wrote:Robinho will rape Panucci

Re: Real Madrid vs. Roma Discussion Thread
You Madrid fans seem calm, where as all the Romanista's are shitting bricks. There is even a thread on making a poem of how nervous you are on the Roma forum I go on.
Cassano's diaper posts:
I’m so nervous food nor drink will stay down.
I’m so nervous, thank God Puskas and Di Stefano no longer kicking round this town.
I’m so nervous Panucci will play.
I’m so nervous Robinho will f@ck him so hard OMR will turn like Guti: Gay.
I’m so nervous but we all bleed yellow and red
Spalletti’s man-obsession for Il Pec has me twisted in the head.
I’m so nervous even tho they’re w/out Ruud, their sniper,
I’m so fucking nervous that now I have to change to a new diaper …

I have been used to going out in the last 16 in the past 3 years so im calm about it. also we are on the way to the title i want to win. Cl would be fine but i would rather have 31 la liga then 10 CL.

You would be calm about going out? I would seriously flip out if we did. We already have 30 league titles. It's clear who the best team in Spain is. The CL is where we prove that we are the best in Europe. I give equal importance to both.
And the fact that we have gone out in the second round for 3 consecutive years is nothing short of an embarassment. We have also gone out against teams that we should have beaten - Juve, Arsenal, and Bayern. Roma is a further step below these teams, and going out against them would be a big blow. We simply HAVE to win tonight.

Re: Real Madrid vs. Roma Discussion Thread
First of all i dont think roma is below these teams. dont be fooled by their performances in the first leg. they are good side which they have shown in serie a aswell. regarding Cl it doesnt have the same class that it used to. like another poster said on here i find that im more excited in the build up to the game then in the actual game. Cl for me is just not the same anymore. i agree that it is embarasing to go out for the 4 consecutive year in the last 16 but i wouldnt be that mad because in the end a league shows true quality.Torrente wrote:supermadrid wrote:I have been used to going out in the last 16 in the past 3 years so im calm about it. also we are on the way to the title i want to win. No, I'm in full agreement. We have to reach the 1/4 finals or else I will be really upset. There is no reason why we should miss out on the final 8 four years in a row. There is no excuse for us not being able to win 1-0 at home.
That said, I have a good feeling. I am going for a 2-0 but have no doubt that we will suffer all the way to the final whistle.
HALA MADRID!!!!!!!!!!!
