Given Real's current form, Liverpool might just have a slight edge over them going into this tie. But then there are a nearly 2 months to go before the match.

Liverpool is a terrible draw considering that we could have gotten the likes of Lyon and Panathinaikos instead. However, it's probably the best thing that could have happened to our defense. Liverpool have no flair players and Torres craps his pants and calls for his mommy when faces San Iker, so I think we have a decent chance to go though.

A potentially fascinating battle would be Raul vs. Hypia. You could probably make a movie out of this and title it "Turtle Race"

Madrid have great players, they just don't have a team

Much will depend on how Ramos sorts out the VDV, robben, Sneijder, raul problem. If he gets it working it'll be a tough game

You have to fancy gerrard, alonso and mascha to dominate the midfield though so if gerrard or torres can produce the goods we should go through

@ Torrente. Torres is a big game player for us. He'll be fine. Hyypia isn't even registered for the CL, but rafa may put him in for the next stages

Absolutely can't wait for this one. To be honest I completely forgot about the draw, woke up and has missed it but got a call from a mate and he confirmed the draw and not only is our game going to be a cracker but the draws in general look top notch this year.

I've been hoping to draw Madrid for a few years now, they're a team I obviously like, although I don't like how they conduct themselves in the transfer market sometimes but this really is going to be a special clash and in some ways it will make up for Torres missing Atletico, because i'm sure he'll be absolutely delighted that he'll get to go back to Madrid after missing out first time round this season.

Obviously we can't talk too much about team line ups because it's a long way off but I hope Rafa will get in a decent right full back or two in case Arbeloa/Aurellio are injured as they may be key whether we go through or not.

    Football cheers

Really poorly to be honest. He had a decent game against PSV but then against Hull he was back to his old self, Mendy raped him to be honest, he just hasn't got a clue how to defend and against Madrid we can't afford this liability.

    Thank God Aurellio is back.

Liverpool fans are scapegoating him at the minute but I like him. His main problem is he probably doesn't have the confidence yet to play his own game and also the way we are set up (no strikers) means that his best work often goes unrewarded because he is a brilliant crosser of the ball. Crouch would have loved him.

He is struggling defensively and gets beaten quite regularly but hopefully this is just him adapting to the system. Very few defenders slot in quickly, especially if you can't speak the language

We rarely get to see what his 'defending' is like... because his positioning is so goddamn awful, he gets beat before he can even make a challenge.

My gripe is, he was bought to replace Riise, and he actually looks worse than Warnock did who was our 3rd choice at the time.

Forgot about this shit. anyway not to afraid of them because like Torrente said they aren't about flair really and also they have Torres against Iker. Razz
I would have prefered going up against less physical teams but it is what it is so we have to adapt. I just hope we play like Real has tradition for in at home because i don't like the whole Cl play of adapting and being pragmatic even at home.problem of course with playing the first game at home is that Benitez will do his usual tactic in the first match away.
