Oh Kimbo, the glorious irony if we should end up signing him lol!

Seems he's "interested" in a move. Not suprised; playing with Lennon week in week out would only improve his game no end <Ale>

It would be funny if you did get him but where would you play him?

Malbranque is in great form at the moment and when Bale returns he'll probably take the left back role.

We're definitely looking for a left winger- have been for sometime now. I would expect Charles and Steed to fight it out for that position. Bale and Charles could infact chop and change down the left since both have experience playing in defence and on the wing.

Would be an interesting signing if it happened.

I wouldnt rule it out too, Newcastle wont want to seel him, but if he kicks up a fuss and demands a move then they'll have no choice in the summer.

How I would laugh if we had Lennon on one wing and N'Zogbia on the other. Hearty hearty chortles of delight in the misery that would inflict on Kimbo

These two wing backs on the same side never seem to work. Bridge and Cole never really mastered it imo and both are as good if not better than Bale and N'Zogbia.

Better off having a left back who can overlap a winger who likes to cut in, like Bale and Malbranque could do.

N'Zogbia would make a great Mascot ok

Word is Newcastle are so desperate to get Chimbonda, they cheekily offered Charlie as bait. Willie Mackay, the agent of both players, also wants the deal to happen. Seeing as our sporting Director is French, he'd jump at the chance to sign Charlie if he thought he was any good. Ale

N'Zogbia isn't a wing back. He's an attacking left winger that's been asked to play left back.

And lest be honest, Bale is far better at getting forward than either Cole or Bridge.

This is a very naughty thread overall, considering that the rumour seems only to stem from some Willie McKay nonsense. This guy is undoubtedly the nastiest agent in football - he foisted Faye and Boumsong on us in deals that surely made him and Souness a bundle of underhand money, and he delights in unsettling players and creating rumours in order to receive part of whatever transfer deal he is able to manipulate. I think N'Zogbia seems reasonably settled at Newcastle - he made a few comments earlier in the season admitting that he had considered leaving in the summer, but suggesting that he was happy to be getting games again - he mentioned that he gets on with Geremi in particular - Keegan has praised him in the past few weeks - but still, having been unsettled in the past, it's a little bit irritating to see him linked with a move away again.

I do recall that Bale was an absolute embarrassment for Tottenham in their 3-1 loss at St James' earlier this season, lasting for about twenty minutes before hobbling off (presumably because he had embarrassed himself so), spending most of that twenty minutes rolling about and whinging with a bleary-teary-eyed face that makes Ronaldo's look mature, even philosophical, in comparison. I guess somebody at Tottenham remembers that day well, realised then, when faced with N'Zogbia's immense talent, the limits of their own players.

Petrov is good but his only problem is the lack of goals...had the same thing at Atletico, and it's continuing with Man. City. Great winger from a team perspective (would help if you had better strikers) but will never get the headlines that someone like Ronaldo does because of the latter's goals.

N'Zogbia: I dream of Arsenal... or Tottenham

French midfielder Charles N'Zogbia has dealt Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan a blow by admitting he is still keen on a move, with Premier League rivals Arsenal a preferred destination.

The 22-year-old has been unsettled on Tyneside for some time and told the manager of his misgivings shortly after his return to St James' Park in January.

Keegan tried to persuade the former Le Havre player his future lay on Tyneside amid speculation that both the Gunners and Tottenham were monitoring his situation, but promised him he would consider the alternative if his feelings remained unchanged.

The youngster now appears to have made his position clear, leaving Keegan with a decision he would rather not have to make as he attempts to bolster his squad for the new season.

N'Zogbia told France Football: 'At the end of last season, I didn't play a lot, so that has given me desire to play somewhere else.

'When I will talk with the coach, it will be clearer. My priority is to play.

'I have dreamt about Arsenal since I was kid. I would be delighted to join the Gunners.

'It is a famous team that has big coverage in France. But Tottenham is exciting too.

'I have never played in Ligue 1. That could be an experience in my career. But frankly, it is not my current priority.

'I am playing in one of the best leagues in the world and I feel a little like at home here.'

Newcastle fought a compensation battle over N'Zogbia after former boss Sir Bobby Robson persuaded him to leave Le Havre in September 2004.

He initially prospered at St James', but lost his way under Glenn Roeder.

Sam Allardyce employed him as an emergency left-back at the start of last season and he appeared to have resolved his problems.

However, after being included in Keegan's team for the first few weeks of his second reign, he lost his place and featured only sporadically as a difficult campaign drew to a close.

Should the Magpies decide to cash in on the France Under-21 international, they will look for a sizeable fee as they try to strengthen their squad.

His pace and invention would be a loss from a side which at times last season, lacked both qualities.

Keegan has already signed Argentina winger Jonas Gutierrez and is now closing in on his remaining targets.

The Arsenal and Spurs ships have sailed, they aren't going to buy him now. All he's doing is burning his bridges here. He'll end up at Fulham or back in France. He clearly doesn't have the attitude or commitment to make it, he's a waste of talent. ok
