Liverpool play 6 top 10 teams, Everton play 7 whilst we only have to play 4 (3 at home )and Villa 5 (Villa's are all away) Plus Everton and Liverpool both have European games. I think this will really help us push on for the fourth spot. After yesterdays result im feeling confident.

we have nice home games and nasty away games. realistically, we won't get 4th, but it'd be fun to stay in the race as long as possible.

must win at reading, but they're bound to end their losing streak against us, a la fulham.

didn't realise it was city-everton next week. that's a big one.

liverpool have 5 very winnable fixtures coming up now. hopefully middlesboro will do their usual big 4 trick. Alves making himself an instant star would be nice

on the flipside, it is getting to the stage of the season where the teams fighting round the bottom become more desperate for points. i just know villa will drop a few points drawing against teams we should beat.

You'd expect Liverpool to make progress on the back of 4 out of the next five at home but they seem to be playing better away at the moment. Benitez plays every match like an away game so they get plenty of practice. Despite his caution if they get their best players back they should still be favourites for fourth spot.

An 8 point gap at this time of the season is unlikely to be bridged. If Chelsea get points at the same rate as in the rest of the season Liverpool and Everton could only afford to drop three points in 12 games.
If Arsenal do the same then Man U can only afford to drop 4 points and Chelsea are out of it whatever they do.

After looking briefly at the fixture list, i'd have to say Man City have perhaps the best chance.

Liverpool have the heaviest anvil to carry in Europe and expectation for that 4th place, i would not be surprised if we didn't finish in a Champions League place, but i do expect the team to deliver.

Still, theres a lot of big games including the title chasers for many of the above teams, the last leg of the premiership looks on paper very interesting.

It's wide open. Liverpool have the cl and f.a cup distractions that villa and city don't have. While Everton already have the extra points. Could really be any of the 4, Liverpool of course favourites, but you never know. Like COTR said Liverpool could well finish 7th Biggrin <Ale>

Well Villa, Liverpool have both won this weekend and Pompey, West Ham and Blackburn all won to keep the pressure on.

Massive game tonight City v Everton, cnt wait for it im hoping the atmosphere will be good.

Everton win would put them 3 clear of Liverpool and Villa but a win for us and all four will be level on 47 points. A draw wouldnt be the end of the world, but it would prob mean we are out of the Champs league race cos Liv win their game in hand and would be 5 clear of us.

    Good luck tonight Citeh!
