It must be said though that sometimes it seems that Arsenal raise their game against the big clubs, but underperform against sides they are expected to beat in Europe. I'd still rather draw Schalke than the favourites though, particularly as we will have a very tough run of games around the quarter-final period. I'd hate to get Man Utd in particular, but I'd rather not play any of the other English sides.

Oh by the way i was not that confident when we drew psv last season. I knew they were exactly the sort of team that could cause us problems - see some of my posts when the draw was made.

They qualified on the basis of a good second half in the 1st leg. We were better in the 1st half but failed to take advantage of our chances as we did a lot last season. They hardly touched the ball in the 2nd leg.

Erm.....Fenerbahce are an odd one. The problem with Turkish football is its very odd. They play these odd formations with 5 at the back and people playining in odd positions. The other problem is, is that on their day they can be fantastic, yet other days they are so shite its embarassin --> look at Liverpools two games v. Besiktas, and Galatasaray in the 2000 Uefa Cup Final. In many ways, I'd rather not play Fenerbahce.

Schalke would be an ok draw, but I have a feeling we could struggle like PSV last year and the mind goes back to playing lesser teams like FC Thun, and struggling to get a result. Nice away trip though...

Barca is in many ways my preferred draw and the one I expect (I know it sounds stupid when its a 1:7 chance) and it would be nice to have Thierry come back to play at the Grove once more, and get one final thankyou. I also think we raise our game against the biggest teams, and it would be fun. Nice place Barcelona, with plenty of cheap flights --> I would definately go.

The English teams are more of a conundrum.
I'd have us nailed-on to beat Chelski, because I think Grant is tactically bereft compared to AW.
Liverpool tend to raise their game in the CL, but I'd still have us nailed on to beat them.

Finally, Manure: The pitch at the 'Theatre of Shit' is so poor, it really wouldnt suit us. Also, looking at the fixture list, it could mean we had to play twice in a row at Old Trafford. Much as I fancy our chance, I cant see us winning there twice in a row. Tricky times indeed.

Overall, I'd probably choose Barca or Schalke
