Being saying for ages that Manicni flatters to deceive. Overrated. Can't believe the likes of Luis & COTR (and Pool' supporters in general) were so desperate to have him sign for them. Is a decent player, but has more average games than good ones IMO. BM may well disagree though.

Also I imagine Evra will be up against Messi, with Brown up against Bojan.

Credit time people , I said Hargreaves is a runner ,he's not a classical DM and would do well in a 3 man midfield or a wider position or fullback in our system.

And I am happy having Silvestre as a backup for Evra.

No I completely agree. The man has no heart, he gives up too easily. When he's playing well he is fantastic, unfortunately he rarely plays well. I hope he is sold while the hype of the goal against Lyon is still fresh.

Daniele De Rossi is everything you hope for in a player. He eats, sleeps and breathes AS Roma. Pure class, pure passion. It will be a difficult day when Roma loses its icon, talisman, and captain, but how many teams can say they’d lose a Francesco Totti and have a wildly gifted, breathtakingly passionate, hometown player waiting in the wings, ready to keep things running in stride? Zero? Or perhaps that’s too high a number. Roma is lucky to have Totti, but it’s equally as lucky to have De Rossi. He comes to define why Roma is known as La Magica, and why it is so beloved. Sure he missed a penalty, by quite a margin too. De Rossi always likes to power his penalties (WC Final, vs Genoa last week). The risk he takes by doing that is what he did tonight. If he just went for placement he probably would've had a better result. In any case, a missed penalty doesn't prove the measure of a man. Such is the admired skill he shows, love for the club he displays and determination for the red and yellow shirt, the tifosi would still love him if he missed 100 penalties.

    Daniele De Rossi: LEGEND. <Ale>

We were humbled by Man Utd again, some said we were a much better team than last season and that we had improved. Obviously from the poor showing it will be hard to prove to people that this is true but IMO it is the case, unfortunately we weren't at the sufficient level to beat, hell even trouble Man Utd. This was never going to be an overnight process. As has been said many times, “it’s a journey, not a destination”. Simply part of the journey, and another “experience”. The core will regroup and ready itself for another challenge, almost assuredly with a few fresh faces looking to upgrade the quality of the squad, and use these experiences as we fight for the chance to defend our home fortress in next year’s final. Two years ago, it would’ve been hard to imagine a missed penalty in the 30th minute of a Champions League quarter final against the best team in the world striking such a resounding blow simply because there was so much belief Roma could actually win the game. That, in itself, is simply remarkable. There will be a good deal of time for 20/20 hindsight vision, and chalkboard lessons on what went wrong where, but for now, it was a great run, and here’s to next year - and, perhaps, maybe even a bit of destiny.

Just 2 years ago Roma were 16th in Serie A battling to stay in the top flight. Spalletti has taken us to new heights.

May I continue to witness this great club reach the stages that only a couple of years ago seemed like a distant memory. FORZA LA MAGICA!!!

Rijkaard will be as stubborn about the league as Wenger is being. And anyway, the game before we have Espanyol, which is a derby so it'll be unacceptable to lose that, or even draw, because there is serious revenge to take for last year's late goal from Tamudo.

Of course, this doesn't take into account the fact that after the first team, there isn't really much depth to bring in and still win games. Oleguer, Giovani, Marquez, Gudjohnsen, etc to win tough Liga matches (one against a rival and one away, our weakness)? Not happening.

Good luck no problem with Roma or Spalletti ,some words that are said and were harsh this year and last were probably in the midst the of the battle.

Good point. Then again if a team can play more than one style and win and rest their best line-ups then all the better.

That's why I don't bash him too much. At times his approach works when we need to be more dimensional. Not to mention he is a big game player.

keep it coming ppl...the more you bash the more words you'll end up eating...doesn't matter if you are argentine, brazilian or english...it'll happen

Born in Fuerte Apache; loved everywhere(Boca, Corinthians, West Ham, and soon Man Utd)

I really like him, there are just times though where he tries the extra touch or takes a ridiculous shot when a good pass would suffice. That was evident last night.

Seemed like he was so desperate to score so he could show his birthday message.

I know I have been harsh on Roma for underperforming at this stage once again, but to be fair, credit to Roma for reaching the quarters 2 years in a row. Spalletti has done well, few people game Roma a chance against Lyon last season, and against Real this season.

Roma are building quality CL experience, this will hold the squad in good stead in years to come. And Roma are improving every year under Spalletti, and that is very impressive. <Ale>

It was just the attack that let them down this time. Last year it was their defence and goalkeeper.

Mancini, Taddei and Vucinic all played poorly.

The midfield and defence weren't really that bad apart from on Rooney's goal.

I forgot the amount of times the Roman defence was breached yesterday should have been a concern, if Hargreaves + Giggs had their shooting boots .. Doni did well yesterday really kept them in the game.

Well Fergie clearly disagreed with the view Roma had a 30% chance of winning by 2 goals with his team selection Biggrin

Surprised just how well that team worked. We have never lost in the cl at home by 2 goals ever so really it would have taken something special to do that. Pique really is a class act, no way on earth should he ever be behind Brown or O'Shea again. Hargreaves put in a performance that made you wonder if he's been playing in the wrong position his whole career.
The penalty was a joke i seriously cant believe you can make decisions like that in a qf.
Tevez can give you brain damage. I said to the guy i was watching it with whenever he got the ball, he aint giving it back. Got a decent goal so im sure people will still claim he played well.
I don't really like seria a's style of football so don't watch it much. But didn't Mancini used to be a rb a few years ago? lm doesn't seem to suit him for me. And De Rossi never really impressed in the few times i have seen him tbh. Against Real Madrid Roma were out of this world, but never played well against us in the two games.

    To the liverpool fans
over 2 games man utd 4-0 liverpool
    man utd 3-0 roma
    so shut up
