    The commentators make me laugh:
"The Italian Police are absolute disgrace".
"I don't know how all this happened, but....". "When Middlesbrough went there during the U.E.F.A cup the police surrounded them...." .

I can understand that the Roman police went to hard, but the way the commentators reacted towards what they saw is poor. At least have some dignity to find out what really happened, instead of immediately blame the police.

It was the police...any normal person can see that. Again I will say, Police in european matches go at fans like raging bulls with batons. Which is not only un-necessary, but inflames the situation.

Did you see what the documentary following the English hooligans at the World Cup? The 'fans' were trying to provoke the Police into cracking skulls but they showed restraint and therefore it passed of relatively peacefully. The Spanish police and the Carbinieri on the other hand have no qualms with this. Simple rules when watching the match; if the guy next to you starts throwing bottles, move away.

It always makes it laugh when you here a supporter says, 'I tried talking to him but he hit me with the baton' - yeah because he will understand you if you start talking in English loudly.

If the Police keep ignoring hooligan behaviour at matches they will try more desperate things in order to start a fight. I'm not saying that fans from other countries are perfect, but this notion that English fans have become civilized overnight, and foreigners are a bunch of Neanderthals is a load of crap`

they're mainly pretty nazi... They (a few thousand, not a few) were disgracefully douing monkey chants, every time one of our black players touched the ball.

Never had any problems visiting awaymatches in Italy (visited all Feyenoord matches and 1 Arsenal one).

We don't have the details, but all I know is that every incident has drunk English fans as protagonists. First it was when Lille hosted the Mancs. Then when Roma played the Mancs. And yesterday, when Sevilla played Tottenham.

Folks, that's THREE DIFFERENT COUNTRIES WITH THREE DIFFERENT POLICE. The only one constant is drunk English "football fans". I was let down by The Times (newspaper is going down) with their blinkered views "Should Roma be kicked out?". Put the blame elsewhere, the Mancs lose the match, their fans behave like dickheads abroad after a few drinks, chaos follows in two different countries (France and Italia), but THE TIMES asks "should Roma be kicked out?" lol! <Ale>

This shite reminds me of the 80's. It started just like this. Some English dickheads starting shite in every country their teams played, and it reached its boiling point at Heysel. It all looks the same, it started just like this. <Ale>

Puro mate...I remember very well the WC 1998.2 things were shocking..The problem with the policeman and the violent german fan..And of course the riots at Marseille with our english friends involved. The destruction at Marseille was massive...It's incredible how stupid and violent our english friends can be when they are drunk!

The article about 1998 is there

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/sport/football/113220.stm

As usual they say they aren't rresponsable...it is the fault of the dirty police. That's what say the italian guy in Lequipe article i posted. He says the english always "blame the dirty police. That's a national sports there to critic the police". <Ale>

The police here are nigh on useless tweedle. Went out a couple of weeks ago and my mate clearly had his drink spiked, but they wouldn't allow a blood test. Nor would they search the person that everyone knew had done it... Far more concerned with attempting to arrest me and a couple of others for swearing.

Yeah Lequipe is Bullshit in general but they aren't responsable if the italian prefet accuse the english fans.In fact the italian prefet asked all the pub to not sell beers before the game (we all know why...)but he was shocked to see it was easy to buy beer around the stadium(so it was possible for you know who to be drunk)...And after the first 1 goal for Roma 100 or 200 ENGLISH FANS decided to attack the italian(video prove it).

Tweed mate, you seem to be very excited at the moment.Believe us,we don't considere all the english fans as holligans but you have to admit some of your english compatriots are pure disgrace <Ale>
