AC Milan have drawn up a four year contract offer for Ronaldinho, and are confident of getting their man, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho has endured a torrid campaign, ridden by injuries and a loss of form, and he is widely expected to move on to pastures new this summer.

Despite various denials, speculation has been increasing in the Italian media over the past week or so that Milan are closing in on a deal to sign the Brazilian.

The Gazzetta today states that Milan have already drawn up a four-year contract offer for Ronaldinho, and they are ready to present their offer this week.

Meanwhile the 28-year-old’s brother and agent Roberto de Assis is set to be given permission by the Barcelona hierarchy to find an official buyer for the player.

Milan are not the only team interested, and de Assis was in England at the weekend, holding talks with both Chelsea and Manchester City following the two sides’ Premiership game.

Inter Milan have also been heavily linked, but Milan are now said to be the favourites.

    Manchester > Milan !

Before his transfer to Barca he kept saying that he was dreaming of playing for Manchester (that time United) since he was a child. Now he can make this dream come (partly) true. Cool

Mundo Deportivo says the transfer fee may be around the 30 million euro mark. If true, I say sell him NOW, before Milan have a chance to change their mind. That is a perfectly appropriate transfer fee for all sides ok

Well, all the major newspapers are saying that a deal is already done.
    Galliani confirmed the same.
I don't know how much truth is in this, but if that is the case, 30 mill euros, sell him!!!

Apparently Barça's VP Marc Ingla and the Italian "super-agent" Bronzetti have had a meeting, while Laporta has also talked to Galliani on the phone. Milan's initial bid is rumoured to be around the 30 million euros mark, but wait...that's for both Ronaldinho and Zambrotta!!!

Joke if you ask me. I think Zambrotta is easily worth more than 10 million euros, especially in Italy, and Ronaldinho should be in the mid 20s.

Galliani says they had a conference call yesterday but couldn't agree on the numbers. Sounds like they're really far off.

Good, says I. For 20 million euros we may as well keep him and keep earning the money from marketing ok

Post by Torrente Mon Apr 21, 2008 11:03 am

This is really amazing. I think Ronaldinho should go in the Guiness Book of Records as the player whose value has dropped the most in absolute terms in the shortest amount of time. 18 months ago the likes Milan were willing to pay 100 million Euros for him. Now Barcelona are struggling to sell him for even 30 million. We should take into account that this is also not a matter of age, since Dinho is only 28 (age would usually be the reason for the value of a player to drop so drastically).

30 million is a relatively good fee for any party involved. For Barcelona it's good because they would be getting a good fee for a player whose career looks finished. But for any team that buys him, they'll make that money back in the first year from commercial endorsements and shirt sales alone. The question is whether Dinho's partying will affect their squad as well.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Milan are offering 20 million euros for both Zambrotta and Ronaldinho, while Barça want 50million.

I don't know how true that is, but come on Milan, you're usually a classy club...let's not take the piss eh? After all, Jo costs 20 million euros apparently lol!

Bronzetti is an Italian transfer market consultant. He's correct about Barca asking too much for players. Tell you what--if Berlu really wants Ronaldinho he will get him for a price that he has in mind. I don't think Milan will force Dinho to exercise Article 17, but sooner or later the player's will will win out.

To be honest, the player has no will left. But I agree that Barcelona are a bit delusional over how much Ronaldinho is worth these days. He's not first choice at Barcelona any more, he wouldn't be first choice at Milan. How much do they want for a fat, unmotivated sub?

Initial talk was around the 25 million mark. That is reasonable. Ok, 40 million is excessive but if Man. City are offering that much why shouldn't we expect that? 15 is an insult...as we've said, Milan will make that much from marketing only.
