Continuity doesn't mean stability.Jaime wrote: This is my opinion. Schuster should stay on regardless. We have been pleading for continuity since Del Bosque left and the carousel of managers has to stop at some point. I am not overly impressed with what Schuster has done this year. As I've said before, the football is not signficantly better (aesthetically speaking) than what Capello produced. And he is not going to win more titles than Capello (maybe less!) did. But just as I advocated for Capello staying at the end of last season, I will say he should stay for at least another season. Because otherwise we are in for more of the same because there it is almost impossible for a manager to get everything sorted out and running as it should in a single season.
However, if Calderon (and Mijatovic) are going to hold Schuster to the same level of scrutiny as Capello, I wouldn't be surprised if he were sacked - winning or losing the league, but even more so if we lose it.
IMO, Calderon and Mijatovic are the ones who should really be scrutinised (= removed). Sadly, the rot will not stop until you remove the cause of it. So, we'll probably have to wait another two years, then hopefully it'll be start of a new long really good period...
