Do you watch any football ?
If Gerrard's fit, he will play. Could you imagine the reaction of the fans if he was dropped? There was already huge uproar when Rafa took him off in the Everton game, with the score at 1-1 (a game Pool later went on to win). Leaving him out of the team for 90 minutes of such a big match would leave him facing the boot (which is probably why Rafa's adopted the 4-2-3-1 to accomodate Gerrard and give him the ability to select Masch and Alonso). Sadly (for you) I think Rafa will play 4-4-2 and leave out either Masch or Alonso. Either way we will hopefully reap the benefits from this.
Blues boss makes Kop idol his No1 target
AVRAM: GET ME STEVIE GSTEVEN GERRARD should pip Cristiano Ronaldo to the Player of the Year award.
That's the verdict of Chelsea boss Avram Grant — who would love to see the Liverpool skipper join his ranks at Stamford Bridge.
Gerrard lines up against the Blues in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg — but he twice came close to joining Chelsea when Grant's predecessor, Jose Mourinho, was in charge.
And the current Bridge boss has revealed he is just as big an admirer of the Kop idol who he regards as the best in Europe.
Grant said: "Gerrard is a great player and a great person.
For me he is the player of the year in England and maybe in Europe because of the influence he has on the team." Manchester United winger Ronaldo is the nailed-on favourite to collect the individual honours this year.
But, just days after declaring he might have £100million of Roman Abramovich's money to spend this summer, Grant insisted it's Gerrard he covets the most.
The Israeli explained: "He's very good, I like him very much as a player.
"And I know him — he is a nice guy, a positive guy and he is an example for many people.
"Unfortunately he plays against me — not with me — but he is still my favourite player.
"I'm not surprised he is playing up front with Fernando Torres now because I think he can play in many positions. In that position he probably feels more free.
"Tactically, its not easy to play against this position."
And when reminded how close Gerrard came to joining Chelsea, Grant added: "If you can bring him to me, I will be happy."
