sounds like a crazy match. impressive comeback by Bayern, but very impressive of Getafe to come so close against the odds.

Pity for getafe they didn;t deserve this. But that's footy.
Pato is disconsolate. Getafe were dead on their feet. They BELIEVED, but had no legs whatsoever the last 5 minutes of extra time. Did you see how Khan ran past them like a Ferrari?
I also told you so that I wouldn't have been surprised with a Bayern comeback. Getafe had absolutely nothing left in their tank. AWESOME game through and through.

What a great game to watch! Feel so sorry for Getafe, they didn't deserve that, but Pato let them down badly. Bayern didn't even seem to be throwing everything forward, but credit to them for fighting their way back into the game. They looked a beaten side but somehow they did just enough. And well predicted JDG (wish you'd been wrong though!).

Re: Getafe v Bayern (2nd leg)
I will watch the highlights later on. Sounds like a great game. Just don't get it that far too often people say a game is decided it's freaking footy even if you need 2 goals you only have to score one 1 3 minutes before the final whistle & everything can change. Hate it even more if people in the stadium go before the match is finished.Puro wrote:De Guzman wrote:TOLD YOU SO!

Very true, especially this game with Getafe totally out of gas the second half of extra time.

Re: Getafe v Bayern (2nd leg)
Even with them being out of gas they played teh ball around. it wasnt untill Pato dropped that they didnt anything. even then they didnt do anything untill the last minute. Pato cost them the victory not the getafe players leaning back.Puro wrote:De Guzman wrote:

Re: Getafe v Bayern (2nd leg)
Even if I would be watching the match & Getafe were playing with 11 men, playing Bayern off the pitch I still wouldn't call it decided. It's football anything can happen & everybody should know never to rule out a German comeback. They're damn good at it & they know it so they believe...Puro wrote:De Guzman wrote:

Sure, the German fighting spirit is very commendable, but it is not a exclusive German thingy. We whooped their ass in front of Hitler in Berlin IN EXTRA TIME after having two goals wrongly disallowed in regulation. True story!
To beat the Germans you MUST match their fighting spirit and confidence. Once you do that, your superior technique will always see you win the game UNLESS you're playing the whole game with 10 men completely gassed by the second half of extra time, then they'll tie the game. And, if they don't tie the game, they'll have Hitler call a "do over".

Not again that story Puro...besides Hitler didnt gave a $h!t about football back then. Was all about gymnastics and turning, boxing etc.
And we all know what happened to the fighting spirit in 1978
