I've been critical of VDS in previous seasons but he has been immense in the last few games when united have been outplayed by boro, roma (away) and arsenal today

    2-1 FT

Entirely predictable. Arsenal play well but gift the game to the opposition. We didn't deserve to lose, but that's irrelevant. Too soft at the back as always. Better performance than what I was expecting, but as always they fall short when it matters. If Wenger thinks this squad is fine without considerable investment he is deluded.

You all thought at the start of the season henry leaving was a blessing in disguise.

This has been proven very wrong recently

Ade is good but he doesn't have the class henry had

Good performance today though with an understrength team. If only wenger would reinforce it a bit

    Have you watched Henry recently?

Of course Adebayor isnt as good as Hnry was but Henry's performance last season was similar to what he's shown for Barca this season.

This game summed up why I have most of my opinions on united

    - They do not play like brazil. They are a clinical counter attacking team, based on a solid defence. It's not particularly attractive to watch but it is effective

    - Ronaldo plays by himself which against the better teams normally involves running straight into defenders

-Anderson is a very good defensive midfielder. He helped changed the tide in a midfield arsenal were pwning

On a positive note their attitude is brilliant and probably the main reason they are currently at the top of the league. If there is one thing arsenal need that this united team possess it is resolve

I thought Hleb played well in the first half. Just didnt have enough energy at the end to keep up the performance.

Brilliant dummy to set up Adebayor who spectacularly fired straight at VDS.

Perhaps Arsenal need a pacey poacher? Severely lacked that cutting edge, even though they had the chances. I think Arsene should covert Walcott into a striker, much like Henry.

If Arsene gets out spent by Sunderland again this summer, it will be the same again next season. So much promise, but too little squad cover.

The winning goal was a great effort by Hargreaves. Again we didn't deserve to lose but what was Gallas thinking of? Theo set up a couple of good positions but we had no cutting edge. When Ade scored I remarked, can't believe he meant that I bet it just hit him and on the replay it showed that in fact he had to use his hand to help find the net with the simplest of chances.

Van Persie's booking was unfair. Adebeyor was clearly fouled which provoked his reaction so that one was a bit unfortunate. Hoyte didn't like the time wasting in the corner although by that stage it didn't matter so that was just daft. Kicking the ball away in frustration is understandable but is usually a booking although Man U got away with one. Think Man U got away with at least two. It's always the away side which picks up most of the bookings.

I hope people cut this Cr@p blaming Wenger for our recent performances.

The players have not been over used! they have played roughly the same amount of games as those from Manu and Chelsea. They are not just performing! our main players(toure, gallas, cesc, hleb, ade) have all been Cr@p, people should stop making excuses for them.

    I'm starting to lose faith in this team. Their quality is not in question, it's their attitude and application. This team never learn, they are guilty of making the same mistakes over and again;

we were undone by 2 long balls into the box at stamford bridge, not long after we made the same mistake vs pool and were punished. We conceded straight after we scored Vs pool in the 1st leg of the CL and u thought the players would learn but what happened? they went on to make the same mistake just a week after against the same team Doh and u saw they did the same Vs Manu today.

They won't win a thing in their career if they continue failing to learn from their mistakes and not doing the basics right( like defending a simple long ball, maximum concentration after going ahead etc)e.

Was a great amazing paced game. Enjoyed the second half a lot. At the pace it was played Anderson instead of Scholes made a big difference as he has legs. Even at 0-1 thought we would win Arsenal just have that feeling they will collapse at some stage. Two great penalty's from the wiz Biggrin
Arsenal made it an awesome game but their goal was a handball so you cant say they deserved to win..... <Ale>

Yo LRD! how about'em Mancs! Biggrin <Ale>

I enjoyed this terrific match. It was a really good game. The only problem I have is that if the ref thinks Gallas' tucked in behind his back handball was a penalty, then surely Rooney's outstretched arm was definitely a penalty as well.

Last time I checked the biceps are part of the arms. The ref DID NOT see Gallas' handball, and neither his linesman. He couldn't have seen it because Gallas' arm was close to his body and almost behind his back. The linesman's view was blocked judging from the replay. So, the ref just called it a penalty for the Man Utd as soon as your Mancs called it. The ref SAW Rooney's handball, but he ate his whistle. Points to Fergie! Biggrin <Ale>

At any rate it was a really good game. Your Mancs "won", but I'd be a bit concerned if I were you bro. That's not enough to win CL, and Fergie won't have a friendly ref, you know that. Wink

I can't believe they gave Rio MOTM! Laugh
VDS was my MOTM, not only he made a host of excellent saves from them Gooners, he also had to save Rio and Brown's best efforts on goal. Hargreaves also gets a shout for MOTM. Really good game! Ale
