I enjoyed this terrific match. It was a really good game. The only problem I have is that if the ref thinks Gallas' tucked in behind his back handball was a penalty, then surely Rooney's outstretched arm was definitely a penalty as well.
Last time I checked the biceps are part of the arms. The ref DID NOT see Gallas' handball, and neither his linesman. He couldn't have seen it because Gallas' arm was close to his body and almost behind his back. The linesman's view was blocked judging from the replay. So, the ref just called it a penalty for the Man Utd as soon as your Mancs called it. The ref SAW Rooney's handball, but he ate his whistle. Points to Fergie!
At any rate it was a really good game. Your Mancs "won", but I'd be a bit concerned if I were you bro. That's not enough to win CL, and Fergie won't have a friendly ref, you know that.
I can't believe they gave Rio MOTM!
VDS was my MOTM, not only he made a host of excellent saves from them Gooners, he also had to save Rio and Brown's best efforts on goal. Hargreaves also gets a shout for MOTM. Really good game!
I've given up hope of getting penalties so I didn't really react to the alleged Rooney handball. We were lucky to be awarded our goal so I guess the two cancel out. Shame the decisions were one way traffic against Luckypool.

The defence has been Cr@p not the midfield. We still own the midfield even without Flamini when we are tried and manU have Scholes (apparently in good form after being fresh from an injury) and Hargreaves (fresh and just had a great performance vs Roma) and Carrick (in great form). Blame the defence for conceding $h!t goals, giving away penalties, and getting out jumped. Blame Gilberto for continuously giving away freekicks if not the ball. Blame Ade for missing numerous open chances, blame Wenger for the stupid team selection but Hleb and Cesc (and Flamini) have never been overrun by any midfield this season. Hleb was still creating the chances and Cesc was still advancing our play today.Hlebtastic wrote:I hope people cut this Cr@p blaming Wenger for our recent performances.
The players have not been over used! they have played roughly the same amount of games as those from Manu and Chelsea. They are not just performing! our main players(toure, gallas, cesc, hleb, ade) have all been Cr@p

@Hlebtastic
Still think a bigger squad would've made a difference. These mistakes and mental failings that Arsenal are making are due to players not concentrating fully, which is perhaps due to no pressure from players replacing them if they not performing.
Plus a better captain than Gallas would be more appropiate...

You didn't get the calls against my Reds either. I see Liverpool and Arsenal dead even. The difference in the CL tie was the two penalties that went against Arsenal. Both teams are even strengths.
Your match today against the Mancs, IF the ref does not call the penalty against Arsenal, he'd sent off a Gooner to bring the Mancs back into the match. I am convinced of that! In a game were Man Utd were committing most of the fouls, he was whipping out yellow cards right and left on your Gooners.
It's not "good" for Arsenal to win the EPL. Too many "Johnny Foreigners" and not enough English players in that team.

They won't win a thing in their career if they continue failing to learn from their mistakes and not doing the basics right( like defending a simple long ball, maximum concentration after going ahead etc)e.
Although had Ade scored just 1 in three of the excellent chances he has been getting we'd have won most of the last 8 games and be in a completely different place.

Nothing pisses me off than when i see us scoring a well worked goal(requiring a lot of skill, intelligence, technqiue etc) and then proceed to gift the opposition a goal with them virtually doing nothing for it.
There's no point laying the blame entirely on Ade, everyone is to blame probably bar 2 players(flamini and sagna)

No, one wrong decision and one dubious decision. Similar situation with Rooney today but he didn't dive like Babel and there was no question of a penalty. How many months did Liverpool fans complain about the Chelsea penalty award? Every dodgy award they got for months was making up for the crime against humanity that they had suffered. Not exactly something that knocked Liverpool out of the league championship either. Not a decision that may have cost Arsenal 35m quid (had they gone on to win the CL).

I thought Rooney brought down the ball with his left biceps. Bendtner appealed for a penalty right away indicating to the ref where the ball hit Rooney, but you'll never see Bendtner scream at the ref demanding a PK like say Gerrard or Flumps. So the ref wasn't moved by his appeal.

Yes, when you consider they have been responsible for all the creativity as Eboue is Cr@p and Van Persie and Rosicky are injured. Helb has still been creating open chances and getting fouled in the box. Cesc is still taking the ball to advanced positions with ease only his dangerous balls have letting him down yet he's still making dangerous through balls that a clinical striker should score and still providing goals through set-pieces.Hlebtastic wrote:shazlx wrote:The defence has been Cr@p not the midfield. We disagree there, and that's cool. If Gallas was a PK, then Rooney's was most definitely.
Barça will go all out in the CL. La Liga is done for them it seems. Messi is back already, and if they convince Ronaldinho to give it a final push for them and leave a winner with another CL trophy...

Although had Ade scored just 1 in three of the excellent chances he has been getting we'd have won most of the last 8 games and be in a completely different place.
Or u could also say we'd been going places now had the defenders stopped gifting opponents soft goals.
No there have been some bad mistakes in defence as well but my point is we have made enough chances to make them irrelevant.
We have always been a team that misses lots of chances even when Henry was upfront - he was also not clinical.
We score goals in almost every game.
Manu and Chelsea don't score 2 goals away from home and come back empty handed.
