Sir Alex Ferguson and Cristiano Ronaldo have won the Barclays Manager and Player of the Month awards.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Cristiano Ronaldo have claimed their second Barclays Manager and Player of the Month awards double this season, during a month in which the Red Devils won every Barclays Premier League match without conceding a goal.

United started the month with a convincing 3-0 victory at Fulham, followed by a 1-0 win over Derby County at Pride Park with Ronaldo scoring the only goal. The Portuguese winger claimed both goals in the 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers and scored again in Manchester United's 3-0 home win against Liverpool.

Ferguson's men rounded off March with a 4-0 triumph over Aston Villa, in which Ronaldo scored a potential goal of the season back healing the ball past Scott Carson for the opener.

Ronaldo is now six goals ahead of Liverpool striker, Fernando Torres, in the Barclays Race for the Golden Boot. His current Barclays Premier League tally is 27 goals.

This is the fourth time that Ronaldo has picked up the player award, having previously claimed the prize in January. This is Ferguson's 21st Manager of the Month award, first claiming the award in August 1993.

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.

Pretty obvious choices although Avram Grant has done pretty well especially with the win over Arsenal

Prior to the Fulham game the turning point of the season occurred, Arsenal slipped up at Birmingham and Manchester United capitalised at Newcastle, 5 games and 5 wins plus 13 goals and 0 conceded is the perfect way to go into the last months. I think a further 3 wins this month will see the team retain the Premiership.
