Finally an interesting Grant interview
Though if he had anything about him he would have finished it with ''I am just focused on training and coaching my team''

The pressure's getting to him. He knows that this coming week will decide whether or not he has a future at the Bridge (Pool away, United home, Pool home).

Congratulations Chelsea! One step closer to ensuring that we don't have to suffer the national embarassment that is Everton in the Champion's League again.
Now it's up to Pompey and Villa to see if they can knock them out of the UEFA spots too.

Watched a replay of the game this morning. I thought it was a very nice match and Chelsea's passing game really impressed me. I don't know why many were disappointed. This was the best "Football" I have seen from Chelsea in quite a while.

In the 1st half and as long as SWP didn't touch the ball. But then in the 2nd hlaf they reverted bak to form.BM wrote:Watched a replay of the game this morning. PS on Terry great passing display (in the 1st half) but he got killed by johnson and was only saved by a WC sliding tackle from Carvalho.

Hmmm...I bet if this was Mourinho, the press would be giggling uncontrollably at his replies, and paint this in a very humorous and positive manner. But they've been anti-Grant from day one, hence the "bizarre" and "he's lost it" tags associated with this. Good result for Chelsea, though I doubt they'll beat Man. Utd. at Stamford Bridge.

Probably because mourinho was funny and humorous and grant could well be the dullest man to even manage in the premiership
It is now how they have painted him. It is just how it is

I agree with Kasani, the media and the Chelsea fans decided a while ago that Grant wasn't good enough, and they're almost willing him to fail in order to be proved right.

Re: EPL Discussion 17th-20th April
Arsenal team news:
In: Diaby, Denilson Neves, Senderos
Out: Sagna, Almunia, Flamini, Rosicky
Lehmann will continue in goal, whilst Alex Song could retain his place in the line-up alongside Gallas. It will be interesting to see how the players react to tomorrows game given the fact we are now out of contention for the title. Hopefully the lads will show spirit and fight for twelve points in our last four games until end of the season, however I fear some will be already thinking of the European Championships and the beach.
Reading could be making ten outfield changes.

2 defeats in 29 league games. Say it again: 2 defeats in 29 league games.
Grant & Benitez have been crucified at certain times this season, Ferguson caught a lot of $h!t in 2004-06, all the while Wenger gets away with winning f@ck all in 3 years because the team is young (convenient excuse) and his side plays pretty football.
The man deserves credit for pulling some of the senior players in who were apparently on the verge of mutiny when Jose got sacked. He deserves credit for going 10 games unbeaten in December when Chelsea had those injuries. I'm not one for backing Chelsea but I'll be pleased for him if he does turn over Liverpool in the CL - what will the Press be able to say then, cos he'd have achieved something that Jose failed 3 times at - beat Benitez in a Semi-Final.
And that Interviewer got the replies the questions deserved.
"Do you think your team is back in the title race ? "
Nope, being 2pts off the top, I think you can say that they're safe from relegation.

English managers
The bottom of the table clubs are getting exactly what they deserve for there treatment of cup competitions throughout the season.
Skysports wrote:
"Liverpool will have a massive say in which teams go down with their next two league games," Megson said in The Sun.
"We hope Rafa Benitez will retain the integrity of the Premier League with his squad selection.
"You would imagine Liverpool's Premier League campaign is still as important as the Champions League.
"They are battling with Everton for fourth so there is local pride to play for."
Megson accepts that he cannot dictate the side Benitez will play, but insists that every top flight manager has an obligation to select their strongest side whenever possible.
"It is nobody else's business but I'm sure Rafa realises the importance of being seen to do the right thing.
"That's from Liverpool's point of view as well as the rest of the country.

We have every right to play who we want to play, if it was Arsenal playing Fulham with a champions leage semi coming up next week then they'd rest players as well. It just happens that we seem to be the team to play these $h!t sides late on when we have an important European game coming up. I couldn't care less if Bolton went down because Fulham beat us, would Bolton care if we went down? obviously not. Obviously I want Liverpool to win every game and a win today will wrap up 4th spot for certain but would I take losing this 5-0 and then getting through in the semi final's in Europe? Every day of the week.

Good time to play Arsenal for Reading, they are deflated, not a lot to play for and I think if Reading go at them from the start it could be a good day for them.

"Arsenal don't beat Reading when they have nothing to play for."
Not sure if us Arsenal fans could handle this.
