Not sure if us Arsenal fans could handle this.

5-0 though, bit cocky isn't it seeing as Arsenal have well and truly ran out of steam and Reading on their day are no pushovers.

"Liverpool will have a massive say in which teams go down with their next two league games," Megson said in The Sun.

"We hope Rafa Benitez will retain the integrity of the Premier League with his squad selection.

"You would imagine Liverpool's Premier League campaign is still as important as the Champions League.

"They are battling with Everton for fourth so there is local pride to play for."

Megson accepts that he cannot dictate the side Benitez will play, but insists that every top flight manager has an obligation to select their strongest side whenever possible.

"It is nobody else's business but I'm sure Rafa realises the importance of being seen to do the right thing.

"That's from Liverpool's point of view as well as the rest of the country.

The bottom of the table clubs are getting exactly what they deserve for there treatment of cup competitions throughout the season.

We have every right to play who we want to play, if it was Arsenal playing Fulham with a champions leage semi coming up next week then they'd rest players as well. It just happens that we seem to be the team to play these $h!t sides late on when we have an important European game coming up. I couldn't care less if Bolton went down because Fulham beat us, would Bolton care if we went down? obviously not. Obviously I want Liverpool to win every game and a win today will wrap up 4th spot for certain but would I take losing this 5-0 and then getting through in the semi final's in Europe? Every day of the week.

    <Ale> <Ale>

This is the same manager who put out a second string team against Sporting Lisbon in the Uefa to concentrate on the Wigan game only to lose to ten men.

Mind you someone said it might be better to be playing your first team as they might not be concentrating whereas the second string will see this as a chance to stake a claim for the CL (like Crouch did).

5-4-1 for Reading. Artic Lorry parking it is then, hopefully they'll be destroyed by Arsenal corners.

I like our new corner routine. Creating panic everytime although Reading's defence is pretty $h!t.

No coincidence our corner taking has improved since Van Perselrooy has returned from injury. Our best shooter, best technique, best crosser, third best passer, second most skill, etc. bounce

Hmmm, he hasnt quite got his shooting boots back on yet but that will come soon. He's looking more like his old self now in this game.
I imagine he's got the most skill, but Hleb is a better dribbler.
And you're right for the passing, he did a beautiful reverse pass down the right wing.

    Havent even mentioned freekicks. <Ale>

Van Persie has been the playmaker today, forget Fabregas. Every through ball and defence spliting pass has come from the Dutchman. Yes, he is the most skillful, you're right, and certainly the second best dribbler after Hleb but I see something in young Theo and think he can become a really class player in that aspect of his game.

We certainly play the better football with Van Persie.

Not really. Arsenal been playing fine all season, and out of this world at times against Pool and such without Van Persie. Don't really get what you base that on.

Wenger really is desperate to run Fabregas into the ground this season. Why oh why is he not given a day off? He's got Euro08 in the summer.

Maybe he wants him so burnt out that he won't be able to play Euros and will come back fresh next season.

Without Van Persie we play quicker one touch football. Such as the one against Liverpool where we shot ourselves in the foot because it was impossible to maintain that kind of football throughout a match. When Van Persie is in the side though we can afford to play our possession football waiting for a telling ball to split the opposition defence. We can do both with Van Persie, more variance and the ability to maintain possession and have more than 2 players that can deliver a through ball. (Fabregas and Hleb)
