I worked out a few small accumulators for each countries individual top scorers (odds have been rounded up).....

Toni for It / Gomez for Ger = 12/1

    Toni / Klose = 4/1

    RVN / Ronaldo / Klose / Toni = 25/1 - could be worth a few quid

    Ronaldo / Klose / Toni = 7/1

    Ronaldo / RVN / Toni = 13/1

From the line-up it looks like they played 4-2-3-1. Glad Hiddink started Pogrebniak & that he did well: first goal, assist for the second. Pavlyuchenko is more skilled, but imo too much alike all their great attacking midfielders. Think a strong out & out striker/CF is better for their midfield.

I backed Baros (£640), Tomasson (£35) and Koller (£0) as well as Czechs (£0) - £80 staked, £675 returned for Euro '04 cheers

For me this is a terrible tournament for betting.

Pro gamblers usually go for short odds favourites with a large stake but there is no standout country who you would put large amounts on.

Its not a great tournament for the casual punter either with no really strong outsiders (Switzerland, Russia, croatia look good but can they win it ?)

    Group A
    Switzerland
    Czech Republic
    Portugal
    Turkey

The Czechs big chance was '04 but they blew it and have their weakest looking squad in many years and I'm tipping Portugal as a suprise 1st round casualty.

    Group B
    Germany
    Austria
    Croatia
    Poland

...and I reckon 99% of fans would agree - Austria have real whipping-boy potential even on homesoil.

They should try and coax Andreas Herzog out of retirement even if he is 39 and hasn't played for 4 years Very Happy

    Group C
    France
    Netherlands
    Italy
    Romania

Very experienced pair plus van Basten is a twat.

    Group D
    Greece
    Sweden
    Spain
    Russia

Greece, Russia and Spain were in the same group last time Sleep

Pogrebnyak - i cant even find odds on him to be top scorer but he is a great talent and will do well imo.
