Off topic but why is it always Africa? How come no poor central-Asian countries like Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan.

Well they don't really come off as a charitable (unless your Chelscum)
But really I was just pulling a poor region out of the hat I could just as well said some indian ocean nation or carribean. My point is why Africa in particular. I always get the impression there is a negative stereotype associated with Africa as a kind of beggar continent.
If he wanted to help a war-torn region try Hackney

Re: Bellamy
Racism Against White Nurses
In 1996 Abbott was accused of racism when she suggested that "blonde, blue-eyed Finnish girls" in her local hospital in West London was unsuitable as nurses because "may never have met a black person before". Conservative MP Ian Bruce stated that he had "never heard such racist rubbish from a Member of Parliament in recent years".[8] Moreover, Abbott was also accused of ignorance as most Finnish people are neither blonde nor blue eyed, it also later emerged that one of the Finnish nurses was in fact black. Abbott apologised for her remarks.

Re: Bellamy
Things like this should be publicised though. When players like Bellamy and Kuyt do things like this...it should get recognition, that some players do have a desire for football and helping others...rather than being a c**t and picking up their £100,000 a week (John Terry).

To be honest I'm amazed more modern footballers don't do thins sort of thing, either at home or abroad. Just how much of your £50,000 a week is disposable income?
If Micah Richards doesn't buy a playing field for needy kids in Manchester then he is a c**t

Re: Bellamy
I remember Nwankwo Kanu used to send some of his wages back to Nigeria...
Then there have been the likes of Fernando Redondo and Mauricio Tarrico not accpeting wages/cancelling contracts due to injuries.
Not all footballers are total c**ts...it's just good that someone like Bellamy (who is a target for many, and is disliked by many) has done something like this.
