Also at 20 million how is Torres so high? At that price he can only be a flop or value for money.
Santa cruz is far and away the buy of the season.

It's not a hypothetical list! It's who was the best performing signing of the season. Unfortunately for Eduardo, he got injured around the time he was starting to make an impression, but he didn't do enough before then to be called one of the 10 best buys.TheCrazy58 wrote:Eduardo should be there too. Had he not been injured he'd have been immense. Also Anderson and Tevez.

Don't know why Diarra's on the list. He's been alright for Pompey but only joined in Jan. I'd say Muntari's been as good as Diarra, but over a longer period.

We didnt sign him last summer, we signed him the summer before.

Eduardo had one good patch of form after three months of anonymity. And most of his goals came against vastly inferior opposition.
He wasn't even close to being a top 10 signing. This is as much a joke as saying Diarra-Arsenal was one of the 10 best transfers.
Seriously, you Arsenal fans are so blinkered.

Scored twelve in all competitions, seven of them against Sevilla, Blackburn, Man City and Everton. Those against Blackburn were in Carling Cup but they fielded their first XI. Vastly inferior opposition?

Prague? Sheffield United? Burnley?
12 goals in 31 appearances isn't particularly impressive for a player who does nothing apart from score goals. His performances as a split striker/winger were abysmal. If we take out the piece of piss games he scored in, his record is 8 goals in 28 appearances.
Which is certainly not good enough to be a top 10 transfer.

I'm merely pointing out the fault in your initial assertion. You said most of Eduardo's goals were scored against 'vastly inferior opposition' and that is patently wrong. Also, 12 goals in 31 appearances for someone who was new to the Premiership and also 8 of these 31 were from off the bench - that looks decent enough to me.

You lot can't have it both ways - either your youngsters are 'better than anyone outside the top four', which means mid table teams are vastly inferior opposition, or your youngsters aren't that good and the likes of West Ham and Blackburn are credible opposition.
Sure, Eduardo was 'decent enough'. But 'decent enough' isn't good enough to be a top 10 transfer. Which is what you said. Which is patently wrong.

I seem to remember ManU losing against WHam and drawing vs Blackburn this season - not credible opposition for you? Maybe if you win the league you can have it both ways.
But this is turning into one of these futile MB arguments. You will never be wrong so far as you're concerned and to be honest, I really don't care. You keep to your views and I will keep to mine.
