This is good (and surprising) news for Bayern. Well done Klinsmann indeed, at least from the Bayern perspective. It would have been a travesty to sell Lahm, and keep Sagnol, going by the performances of the latter in the last few years.
He would have stayed next year anyway. Now it seems he will stay for at least two more seasons. If Bayern can really get into a position where they can challenge for the CL, maybe longer.
It's also good to hear that they'll keep investing in the squad.
I guess the formalising of our interest in Alves, and Ferguson stating Neville would play a part next season + saying he'll only focus on one department (I assume up front) + Brown staying...all meant he decided to extend.
