Lahm to leave Bayern Empty Lahm to leave Bayern

    Post by Ä Tue Apr 22, 2008 4:12 pm

    http://www.sport1.de/de/sport/artikel_2228323.html

in a repeat of the Ballack contract extension farce, Bayern have now failed to persuade Lahm to sign on the dotted line yet again

they have also withdrawn their improved offer , just like with Ballack

    ie

Lahm is about to leave and will probably join either Barca or ManU

Bayern say they will not allow Lahm to leave this summer so that he would depart on a free transfer next year

surely, Hoeness and Dummenigge cannot be THAT stupid

they would lose 20 million Euros easily

70 million , if Lahm suddenly discovers he has a Dutch grandfather

Post by Sheffield gunner Tue Apr 22, 2008 4:16 pm

What do you think the main reason is? Is Lahm just determined to leave and forced this through, or are Bayern undervaluing him?

He would be a great signing for a number of teams, and if he is on a free transfer when he does finally leave there will be a lot of teams interested in him.

    something's off

you could be right and Lahm feels undervalued

everything is about Ribery this and Toni that

Lahm indicated that he would like to be Bayern captain if asked

the chances of that happening are and were virtually ZERO

    pity

    SChlaudraff is off

Poldi wanted to leave but was not given the green light

    and now Lahm

    +

Schweini is clearly suffering from the Ribery effect as well

and Ottl will never become a great alongside van Bommel and Ze Roberto or Rossi/Gattuso , if they join

    same old same old

Bayern are destroying our German talents

    only Lell is seemingly thriving

Jansen is a LB, Lahm's future is RB, although he can play well on both sides.

If the Spanish press is right, Lahm could be the first German player at Barcelona after Schuster, the only German player to have ever played there. It's quite ironic that Real go Dutch under a German coach (they intend to expand their Dutch contingent with signing Huntelaar), while Barca, the traditional Dutch stronghold, goes German.

If Lahm really moves there, I expect Gomez to follow him soon, as long as Barcelona are interested. Gomez' dream is to play for Barca one day.

Bayern is not a selling club, they haven't really cared about earning money with transfers for decades now.

They probably would have even kept Hargreaves if he wasn't so keen on leaving to England.

Yup, Barcelona don't need him atm., but this could change in future, who knows. But should Barcelona ever be interested, they'll have an advantage to sign him over other clubs, because he always wanted to play for Barca.

I'm predicting Lahm won't cut it a real league : can't defend and too small for a fullback. Being able to rush forward won't be enough.

Lahm has the right attitude and character, and 'will cut it' anywhere. Besides, to 'cut it' at Bayern, especially for a young German player, is as hard as anywhere else.

Barcelona and Manchester United supposedly are the most interested clubs, wich Barca apparently having the edge. Not sure how accurate the Spanish press is though.

Any fullback who bombs forward constantly, puts in a good pass, and then gets back to be in the rough neighbourhood of his winger, is good enough for Barça tbh.

Pigs haven't flown yet so I doubt Kuranyi could be top scorer of any competition. If Schalke had a proper striker they should've beat us, felt sorry for Schalke as they played better than Barça but still went out.

Schalke is Schalke. They could have had Gerd Müller playing for them, and still would have lost. Kuranyi might not be the most clinical striker out there, but his main problem this season was the lack of support he got from a Schalke midfield that lacks creativity, especially after they sold Lincoln. As anglo pointed out in another thread, he was more of a midfielder than a striker for them this season.

But yeah, they did play well against your lot, but still lost and went out. Reminds me of something... Rolling Eyes
