the endless conveyor belt of German talents will simply not stop

so, my dear English and (other) foreign friends, let me introduce you to a player, who could turn out to become even bigger than Gomez, when both have finished their careers

his name is Manuel Fischer (juligen will be happy to recognise the German nature )

Fischer has now been brought on twice as a late sub in the Bundesliga

the 18-year-old used his first 30 minutes in the limelight to score one goal and assist another

    not a bad start, heh

    lol!

to those of you now wondering whether he could merely be a flash in the pan

    well

the young German lad was the top-goalscorer at the U-17 Euros, I believe

    chrissi and blut know more

quite astonishing: but it's now possible that Poldi's and Klose's Germany career could be over within the next two years

Gomez and Fischer could lead from the front

Kiessling, the third best goal-scorer in this year's UEFA Cup and an erstwhile transfer target of Wenger's is no longer even in the Germany Euro squad

    lol!

I now propose : the hot-housing of German world beaters has to stop

the rest of the world simply cannot keep pace and will get increasingly jealous

economists already predict that one day people will fight wars over WATER (we had those oil wars already)

my fear is, that sooner than we think, the world will have proper football WARS

that the fight over football raw materials will intensify, and that the losers, those with no access to German talents, will raise their weapons, or close the gas pipelines or what have we

I therefore propose an international German footballer draft, just like in the NBA

the Bundesliga will keep the top 100 German players and the rest will be allocated to some of the poorest football nations and leagues world wide

this way, we might be able to keep this world as peaceful as possible

    call me a dreamer

but I am sure, it can be done

No premature hyping of this one, let him develop and gradually get eased into the first team in peace over the next two seasons. Thanks.

Give the kid a chance otto. Look what your podolski hype has resulted in. In comparison to what you have said about him, everyone now sees him as completely ordinary.

Gomez still is unproven and his time will come to vindicate the hype

Fischer, whoever he may be, after one goal, is not quite ready for greatness just yet cyclops

Fischer is a natural goal scorer, a clinical finisher type. Despite his young age, he is very calm and composed in front of the goal. And otto was talking about the U17 EC in 2006, when Fischer was topscorer of the tournament indeed, together with Bojan Krcic.

I agree with anglo though, stop the hype otto. He is very talented, but very raw still. Let him develop and gain experience first. But knowing Stuttgart and their excellent youth setup, and the way they continue to integrate promising young players into their team, I'm optimistic about his future. Stuttgart really seem to have the right touch when it comes to young striker talents.

Hello Juli! Smile I'm doing ok, thank you. How is Brazil these days?

We will buy some new players this summer indeed, but nothing concrete yet. We better discuss that in the Werder thread though.

a lot of names that don't look very German to our Brazilian juligen

it seems as if tomorrow's Nationalmannschaft strikers will have a strong "Migrationshintergrund"

    fair enough

I just hope we will have a Turkish-German in the Nationalmannschaft soon

the Turkish FA are really stealing our best talents

and having an Alintop or Bastuerk in the Mannschaft would help ethnic minorities integrate quicker into German societies

In fact it´s more the other way around, nowadays.

This Aydilek from Birmingham is a former turkish U19 international, but opted to play for Germany a few months ago.

Same with Taner Yalcin, a highly rated youngster from FC Cologne, topscorer
in the U19 Bundesliga. He decided to play for Germany U18 although havin played for the Turkish U19 side.

But otto is right also, we lost way too many German born kids with a Turkish heritage in the last few years, discussed this in the Mannschaft thread already.

Fortunately, things are changing now indeed. Most of those Turkish kids who decided to play for Turkey didn't really feel at "home" there either. Their teammates often did not treat them as one of their own, but as "Germans" rather. And that's exactly they are, of course.

In fact it´s more the other way around, nowadays.

    not so sure

    what about Sahin

also , two German-Turks now play at Ferner, I think

    both are very young

one decided to opt for Turkey the other for Germany

both were born in Germany though

Bastuerk would have been great for the Mannschaft as well

maybe Oezil will be the beginning of a change for the better

Where did these Turkish-Germans got their birth and education?

Both are born in Germany and of course educated there.

Of course we don´t call up youth players raised in Turkey or other countries.

I understand... Logically if they are good enough they always have to choose Germany over Turkey... but that's just my humble opinion...!

It´s not just a feeling but a fact that the most top talented Turkish-German players opted to play for Germany in the last two or three years.
You can´t expect, that all Turkish talent will play for Germany of course. But a change is going to happen, that´s for sure.

You are talking about Calik and Özbek. Both came from Essen. Özbek (a Gattuso-type player)is much more talented than Calik. He is a starter for Galatasaray, while Calik is sitting on the bench most time.
Calik is not good enough for our U21 let alone for the A team.
He declared that he doesn´t see a future for himself in the German national team and
opted for Turkey. So it was definitely not a question of identity for him.

About Bastürk: He made his decision at least ten years ago at a time, when the DFB was only interested in Detlefs and Dieters.
He even said in a Kicker interview a few month ago, that he would have played for Germany if they asked him.

The Altintops: Halil wanted to play for Germany, but his brother Hamit convinced him to play Turkey.

Sahin. Well, he was on a DFB course, but these idiots didn´t see his talent.

Of course quite a few Turkish-German players will opt for Turkey in the future.
But it´s getting more and normal, that the top talents of foreign origin (I´m not only talking about Turks), who are born and raised in Germany will opt for Germany in the future.

To me it´s not a big surprise if you look at countries like US, France, Holland, England etc.
