Mancio built this squad to suit his formation, Mancio has worked all his managerial career in Serie A, and he has coped with the competition getting tougher each year very well so far.
And finally, I don't think the competition will get much tougher than last season. Last season was one of the most competitive Serie A's I have seen in a decade.
Most competitive but its still rebulding from all the scandals surely? The league isnt as strong as it could/should be. Mancini has had to win two titles in which the usual contenders have either been in a lower league or starting with points deductions and one where he was just given the title because of the scandal(thats right isnt it?)..and this season it was a $h!t AC Milan side that had far too many oldies in it and other than that the competition wasnt of a high enough standard to challenege properly and it took the Inter side nearly choking to death to let anyone near them..and they still won it.
I dont think Mourinho will disrupt it too much..im sure he'll want a few of his own players but that man isnt stupid, he managed to come into Chelsea buy alot of new players and win the league.
My thoughts are the same. The league might have been competitive, but it wasn't because of the big boys that can actually win. Juve weren't around and Milan had points taken away and an old squad... Roma was the one fighting for the title, a club that is usually around as an outsider behind the two Milan clubs and Juve.
Still, Inter almost bottled the entire thing and Roma came so close to snatching it... not because things were that close, but because Inter couldn't seal the deal quick enough. I was wishing Roma would steal the show the way Inter was dragging its feet.

Re: Mourinho @ Inter
Reported last conversation between Mancini and Moratti.
http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=715495
Mancini And Moratti In Explosive Fight
It is being reported that Inter chairman Massimo Moratti and his former team coach Roberto Mancini had a heated exchange on the day of his dismissal...
According to Il Giornale, the meeting between Mancio and Moratti lasted fourteen minutes - contrary to the previous reports of a two-minute meeting and one that lasted 20 minutes - and while Moratti was said to be calm and collected throughout, Mancini was furious with the decision that he believed had been coming since January.
Here is the conversation between the two, according to Il Giornale:
Moratti: Hello Roberto, how are you?
Mancini: I am fine, thank you.
Moratti: How's the family?
Mancini: Good, thanks.
Moratti: Roberto, I have to give you some bad news.
Mancini: I knew it.
Moratti: I have to let you go.
Mancini: No, you want to let me go, it's different.
Moratti: No, don't say these things. You know, the team, I spoke to them and something is not right. So, it's better to change.
Mancini: Don't say this, you already had Mourinho lined up back in January.
Moratti: No, not at all, it's not what you think.
Mancini: Nooo! You have been giving me all sorts of stories and lies for months. I have always behaved in the right way and I have never lied to you. I cannot understand this decision.
Moratti: What are you talking about? Don't be like this, listen to me!
Mancini: Listen to what? You didn't even enjoy this centenary Scudetto.
Moratti: What has that got to do with this? Calm down and lets talk calmly.
Mancini: Seeing that you're letting me go, I can't even be bothered to listen to you anymore.
Moratti: Don't leave it like this, let us at least talk about a good exit payment.
Mancini: I don't want your good exit payment, you have to give me the money for my four years of contract and I won't even take off one Euro. But don't worry, you will be hearing from my lawyers and with this I am off.
Whether the conversation or indeed the incidents spoken of are true remains to be seen, though one thing that is almost certain is that Jose Mourinho will sign as coach for the club in the coming days.
Mancini is expected to receive up to €30 million in compensation for his dimissal. Mourinho is reportedly being lined up for a three-year deal worth €27 million.

The offcial Inter statement says that Mancio accepted his fate without any disrespect towards Moratti. I can imagine that is true. There might be an issue on his contractual payment, but thats probably the only point of contention/negotiation in this whole thing.

It's convenient for bluenine to blame Berlu for everything, but the truth is Inter have always had internal problems. Did Berlu force Mancini to come out like an idiot and resign after Liverpool? Also, like I said a few pages back, it seems Milan are always fighting La Gazzetta these days for the content of their articles, and Gazzetta is supposed to be pro-Inter and pro-Milan. But it's easier to blame Berlusconi. The truth is Inter have always had internal problems. Even in victory they aren't united.

Yes, exactly, like:
'Moratti: Roberto, I have to give you some bad news.
(Moratti places his hand on Mancini's knee. Mancini looks sorrowfully upon this hand for a second, then suddenly revolts, pushing Moratti's hand away - he gets up from his seat and paces slowly towards the window. Re: Mourinho @ Inter
So the tantrums of the special one begin -
Mourinho Tells Moratti To Sell Ibra
According to Tuttosport, incoming Inter coach Jose Mourinho has told Massimo Moratti to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he does not consider him as part of his plans for the club.
Mourinho will be appointed as Roberto Mancini’s successor at San Siro over the coming week or so, and he has already begun preparing for the summer transfer market.
There has been much speculation in the Italian press over the past few days that Zlatan Ibrahimovic may move to Barcelona, and indeed quotes attributed to the Swede’s agent Mino Raiola revealed that a swap deal including Samuel Eto’o was on the cards.
Tuttosport today claims that Mourinho has told Inter President Massimo Moratti that Ibrahimovic is not part of his plans for the club, and he wants him sold immediately.
The ‘Special One’ is said to agree with those who believe that Ibrahimovic fails when it comes to the big games, particularly in the Champions League, a competition that Mourinho has been brought to Inter to win.
Mourinho also wants to sell Ibrahimovic because he wants there to be a total break from the whole idea that Inter are only dominating Serie A as a result of the Calciopoli crisis. Many people partly attribute their success since 2006 to the purchase of Ibrahimovic (and Vieira) from Juventus, and Mourinho wants to try and remove Inter’s association with Calciopoli.

Re: Mourinho @ Inter
No, he probably wants Ibrahimovic out so he can implement his policy of "close ranks around the players, take the spotlight off them, I am the only star and ego of my club, everyone must work for each other with no pride".
His personality is why I wouldn't like Ibrahimovic at Barça either, even though it's a bit tempting since his flair is exceptional and he will re-add the unpredictability that we lost with Ronaldinho's drop in form. Plus he has real strength and height.

Re: Mourinho @ Inter
Only at Inter. What a classy club :
Mancini takes aim at Inter
Friday 30 May, 2008
Roberto Mancini has hit back at Inter after the club confirmed the reasons for his dismissal last night.
Despite winning the Scudetto, Mancio was given the push on Tuesday evening after a brief meeting with President Massimo Moratti.
In a statement issues yesterday, the club insisted that it had sacked Mancio for the comments he made after Inter’s Champions League defeat against Liverpool when he shocked the world of calcio by revealing he wouldn’t be at the helm next term.
However, Mancini has hit back at the Beneamata for the way they have treated him.
“With reference to the Press release from Inter that was published this morning in the majority of newspapers and shown on TV in Italy and abroad, I want it to be known that Inter have disclosed false and illicit events that have seriously offended my honour and my reputation,” Mancini’s declaration to news agency ANSA reads.
“As a Coach I thank the President Moratti, Gabriele Oriali and the whole staff that supported me, but above all the Nerazzurri fans who followed me during four years of unforgettable emotion and continue to show their respect for me.”
Mancini is currently the favourite to occupy the vacant Chelsea hot seat and has also been linked with Manchester City, where his son Filippo is currently on loan.

Sure, official statements are official statements, but are much more accurate than some of the Cr@p that is being written.
The issue between Inter and Mancio now is only of payment - and its obvious that both parties will try and use the press to get their end - thats how things are negotiated in football most of the time now. Inter want Mancio to settle using the arguement that he publically resigned anyways, while Mancio wants his entire contractual amount. I hear that both parties are consulting their lawyers these days, and thats the main reason why Mourinho has not yet been confirmed as the Manager.
I have to admit - the Inter management is one of the worst in europe. Like Forza keeps saying, only at Inter! We have to wash our dirty linen in public, all the time

What Adriano had to say about Mancini;
“I cannot judge a person who is so far away,” said Adriano. “But for me, it is better now Mancini has left Inter.”
“I have been reborn here,” he explained. “I would like to go back to Italy, but first I want to go on holiday with my family.
“Jose Mourinho wanted me when he was at Chelsea. It is reassuring to know that I will be playing under a Coach who trusts me.”
---------------------
Jose Mourinho has been photographed with Inter President Massimo Moratti outside a Parisian restaurant.
The 45-year-old tactician has yet to be officially confirmed as Inter's new Coach, but today spoke about the job with the Nerazzurri.
“It will be the challenge that everyone says it will,” Mourinho told Jornal de Negocios.
“They tell me that I have to win there. This is what you expect of me and I like the expectation.”
“I will face a sack of pressure in my next job,” admitted Mourinho. “However, it is in these situations that I become ever stronger.
“As a trainer, I consider myself quite simple. I like people to be open with me. In the end, I am easy to work with. It is enough for players just to follow me.”
“He is the best professional I have ever worked with,” explained Mourinho. “I have never met anyone who compares to Frank.”

Re: Mourinho @ Inter
Matrix To Mourinho: First Team Or I'm Off
Marco Materazzi is demanding immediate talks with incoming Inter coach Jose Mourinho, and will ask to leave the club if he is not assured of a first team place.
Mourinho will be named as the new boss of the Nerazzurri this week, and he will immediately begin to shape his squad ahead of next season.
Veteran centre back Materazzi, who will turn 35 in a few months, had a miserable 2007/08 season where he struggled with injury and poor form.
The Matrix is said to be concerned about his place in the team next term, as Inter currently posses a host of top class centre backs, including Ivan Cordoba, Christian Chivu and Walter Samuel.
Chelsea star Ricardo Carvalho has also been linked with a move to the Stadio Meazza, and sources in Milan say that Materazzi is demanding immediate talks with Mourinho.
If the Portuguese tactician does not guarantee the former Perugia man a first team place, then the hardman will ask for a transfer.
Fiorentina, who recently missed out on Andrea Barzagli, are said to be following the situation closely, and could launch a bid for the World Cup winner.

Re: Mourinho @ Inter
Which players he will try to bring in this summer? Will any of them be from Chelsea? Which of the existing squad will he keep?
Like many have said on here already, Serie A will be in better shape next season with AC Milan & Juventus adding to their existing squads and the constant improvement from the likes of Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria & Udinese.
With the appointment of Mourinho, Serie A has already become even more interesting.

Re: Mourinho @ Inter
There was a report today he wanted Essien. Surely whoever takes over at Chelsea would want to keep him and it's hardly like Roman needs his transfer value - £25 million.
The only problem is if the player himself wants out.
