Germany beat Poland so if they were to finish level on points Germany would qualify. Austria would have had nothing to play for in the final game - this way Austria will be trying for the win and never give up.

It's something that is way too prevalent and never acted on, but at the same time giving a decision like this, when we know there will be no consistency - means it's just the referee arbitrarily deciding the course of the game. In this case, it was a clear home decision.

Let's face it, exactly the same incident down the other end would never have gotten a penalty at that moment in that game. Hence I see it as bullshit posturing from Webb.

it was a correct decision, and fair from the point of view of the game, and the best thing for the group and the last round of matches. Now everyone has something to play for except croatia.

Austria to beat germany with a similar penalty and we'll all be happy

Don't forget the tradition that 1 of the home nations gets through the group stages. Since the swsiss are out it is up to Austria.

No UEFA are wrong for having one of the rules being applied inconsistently, harming my beloved Poland. Far worse pulling and shoving has been going on in other matches at this tourney. Only Poland get punished.

At least the other refs are consistent by only punishing attackers for pushing & shoving in the box.

Only if you send them to the EPL, La Liga or Serie A for "big match training" first.
