f@ck yeah! Them Spanish missed tons of goals right in front of his face. Lehmann had the best seat in the house to notice something was up. You know that Torres is bound to miss lots of goals, but that shite was ridiculous. <Ale>

...was it him or klose who said the ref was biased against germany?

The ref wasn't biased, but you could tell Germany were getting a bit frustrated because of all the fouls going Spain's way. But that's just the way it is - when you're destined to win, you get the "rub of the green", "champions luck", "the ball bounces your way", "the opposition's crosses are overhit", Klose mis-controls the ball in the 3rd minute, etc. etc. and all the other cliches.

"In my opinion the performance of the referee was very disappointing. He was a referee who did not really fancy us Germans," the former Arsenal custodian said.

"This was the third time I was unlucky with referees in a European cup final," (referring to the 2002 Uefa Cup final when Lehmann played for Borussia Dortmund and Dortmund defender Juergen Kohler was sent off after just 30 minutes. 2006 Lehmann himself was sent off in the first half of Arsenal's Champions League defeat against Barcelona.)

"I spoke to the referee and he was very arrogant. In my opinion he was biased.

"He clearly saw a head butt from a Spanish player and he did not book him and he did not give him a red card and just before the end we had a good chance in the penalty area, but all of a sudden he gave a foul against us and even the Spanish players were surprised with that freekick.

"The referees performance was very disappointing."

Lehmann said that he was disappointed with the goal.

"As a player you always say if I had done that or done that. I am not the kind of person who blames others.

"If I had probably waited a bit longer or had done something different Torres would not have scored."

Striker Lukas Podolski said that he did not think the referee had a good game.

"There were certain decisions where he went against us that could have gone in our favour. But we must be honest, that is not why we lost the game. We did not do enough to win the European Championships,"

All German (team, fans, media ) post match reactions have been VERY good/fair.

Mad Jens is the exception to rule. Can think of a few other countries from which we would have heard far more post match bullshit

I didn´t watch this interview. It would be a disgrace if he really said that.

But there were several interviews by him today, and he always acknowledged Spains victory as fair.

Holland? We're like the Germans in that department. The only time I remember there were minor hints of accusations in some media about foul play was when 20 odd years ago Spain needed to beat Malta by 11 clear goals to knock us out during qualification & exactly did so after being only 2-1 or 3-1 at HT; they won 12-1. Still think it was bullshit & we ourselves were responsible for being in that position (we always knew Spain had to play Malta after Malta had played a match 3 days beforehand.)

It was weird to see the ref wasn't on Germany's hands. I'm not so used to that... (probabaly this is the first time in my life I saw that) But then he just favoured the MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better team a tiny tiny tiny tiny bit!...

germany are CONSTANTLY blaming everything for their loses...vogts even once blamed a UEFA conspiracy when they lost to croatia!!!

this time they are not...apart from jens...probably because its quite clear they were simply not good enough..
