A long way to go yet in this transfer window, but thus far, which league has brought in the most talent? I mean reasonably big names/players who are expected to become top players.

La Liga: Altidore, Heitinga, Escudero, Hleb

Serie A: Ronaldinho, Poulsen, Flamini, Zarate, Alexis Sanchez (?), Zambrotta

EPL: Modric, GDS, Bosingwa, Jonas, Jo, Deco, Nasri, Gomes

Probably some I've forgotten, but at the moment you'd say it's between Serie A & the EPL.

Yea, but isn't that just every in and out? i haven't heard of some of them, and others like Riise & Manninger I can't see adding much to the league.

perhaps you can enlighten me; who out of Melo, T Costa, Radu, Zuniga, Carrizo, Jovetic, Sanchiz etc are considered big talents/players? I don't know anything about them, so haven't added them

Melo went from Almeria i think for 16 mil euros. which i think is strange because i cant remember even hearing alot of buzz about him. allthough i had heard of him a couple of years ago but that was because of Football manager.

These are not all the names, but the ones who are likely to play a reasonable part in their clubs campaign. Haven't mentioned the squad players or some of the kids bought. But yeah, its more exhaustive than your list. I actually haven't seen most of these guys play. Can write what I have heard:

Melo is the most expensive import among all these, you probably remember him from Almeria last season. I have not heard anything great from the Liga fans on him, but Prandelli will not pay so much (EUR 12M+??) for a player for no reason.

From what I've heard, Jovetic is a real talent. Viola fans are talking a lot about him, even comparing him to when a young Roberto Baggio joined them... so watch out for that name in the next 2-3 years. He is very young, so it will take some time as Prandelli blends him into the team.

Radu is the kid from the Romanian squad, nicknamed the "next Chivu". Gone could probably throw more light. Denis is the hot shot striker from Independiente, Zuniga is called the "colombian cafu", Carrizo is the GK Lazio have been desperately after for over a year now, etc etc. But yeah, if you want to look at top transfers, these are not the guys you would mention. Like Sanchez and Zarate you mentioned (which is why I put up a more exhaustive list). These guys are potentials.

    right so as the end of the transfer window approaches, we have;

EPL: Nasri, Zabaleta, Emnes, Pavlyuchenko, Dos Santos, Modric, Bosingwa, Dossena, Jo, Kompany, ElmaMnder, Behrami, Deco, Gomes, Jonas, Villanueva

Serie A: Jovetic, Radu, Ronaldinho, Melo, Quaresma, Zarate, Falque, Poulsen, Menes, Baptista, Muntari, Zambrotta, Alexis Sanchez, Matuzalem, Denis, Lichtsteiner, Carrizo,

La Liga: Altidore, Escudero, VdV, Pique, Renan, Romaric, Konko, Hleb, Ufalusi, Heitinga, Castillo, Nelson, Emana, Squillaci

so i guess you'd say EPL/Serie A have brought in quite a bit of talent; La Liga less so?

A lot of La Liga clubs are in financial trouble or have smaller budgets than even their Italian counterparts, so I can see this effect getting worse in years to come.

Somehow its weird Italy and Spain are among the top 3 leagues, I mean those countries are quite poor and surely have less money then France and Germany.

Yet these leagues are somehow inferior.

Particularly Germany, which has traditionally big clubs, and has the highest average attendances in Europe. Not as if Germany isn't an appealing country either.
